About this property
This Amazing home has lots to offer! wonderful hot-tub , pool table & seclusion
Moonshine Ridge ...a Newly Remodeled Vacation home based on the homeplace of the Cove's notorious Moonshiner and yes, Great Grandpa, Jake Garland. This 2 Bed 1.5 Bath home sits on 12.2 acres just over the Ridge from the National Park and within walking distance to several of the area's best Trailheads including Ace Gap, Rich Mountain, Cerulean Knob Loop. The home puts a modern twist on what was a very basic cabin of the late 1800 and early 1900's in the Bearded Cane area of Cades Cove. The original cabin without electricity, plumbing, or a kitchen would not create a very welcoming Vacation. Instead, this renovated home features a modern kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. The island connects to the dining table to create seating for 5. While the living room which had a fireplace as the main feature, it now includes a 55" Smart Television. For entertainment the Garland kids often played with homemade toys and games. Today's Guests get a pool table and foosball for their enjoyment. We did add a second bedroom, because, let's face it, no one wants the kids in their room, and the Garlands had 11. The Bedroom features a Queen adjustable bed and an electric fireplace with its own 42" Smart TV. The Primary Bedroom also includes a Queen adjustable bed and an electric Fireplace with 42" Smart TV, but adds an ensuite bath with double vanity and wet room including a claw foot tub and shower. Just as Mamaw used to talk about -- we included a sleeping loft for those extra kids to bring our total sleeping capacity to 6. In addition and definitely a modern convenience, we added a half bath and laundry area. No need to go outside or to the creek. On the outside, you can sit and relax on the front porch, enjoy the Hot Tub or roast s'mores in your private Fire Pit. We invite you to come, stay, and live the story of Mamaw Nancy's childhood home and life in the Cove in the early 1900s. Enjoy FREE access to the swimming pool and fitness center located at the Wild Laurel Golf Course, about seven minutes this property.
***Please note this property has a gravel driveway that has an incline in areas. While a 4 Wheel Drive is not required, it is helpful. We do not recommend motorcycles, trailers, or vehicles that sit low to the ground***

The cabin was absolutely beautiful. There were TVs and fireplaces in the downstairs bedrooms and living room, a foosball and pool table, and a fire pit outside. The kitchen has all basic kitchen needs, including an air fryer.
Would recommend.
The property was beautiful! Definitely felt secluded but not too far from attractions and hiking. Mostly a few maintenance issues we let management know about. With the price you pay it would be a good idea to fix the few things that make things easier. Berr cans in the fire pit, broken trash cans, dirty hot tub.

Moonshine ridge
Cabin was very nice, location and the road to get there not so great. The gravel road straight up a huge hill really should be advertised. Hot tub wasnt able to use had a bad smell and water wout stay jot
The cabin was very cute and very clean. We loved the bathroom !! Had a very nice tub. There was an electric fireplace in each bedroom. Nice 👍. I think my only complaint would be there were no blinds in the living room. There were no close neighbors but I still prefer to have windows covered at night. the steps to the loft were steep and didn't have a rail on one side so little scary for kids. It was beautiful and we would stay again for sure !!
Pros: Nice accommodations. Great value. Convenient to Townsend(about 10min). Appliances all function as they should, and look good. Downstairs beds are comfortable. Comfortable furniture, big TV. Master bath is really nice. Especially the shower. Hot tub was nice. Parking is great.
Neutrals: Pool table and fuseball table were just ok,.. but that's understandable. Gas grill not in great shape, but useable.
Cons: The upstairs....the steps to the loft are difficult and the beds are small for adult children. You may consider an air mattress. The driveway is an adventure.

Overall good a few issues
The house was clean and nice. The driveway 100% should have been shown and notified of the damage the rain had did. We had 2 motorcycles fall on the way down because of a massive rut that formed, the entire driveway is loose gravel on steep hills with a tight corner half way up the hill, i would not recommend motorcycles at this property. Also the house lacked some pretty basic things. Extra toilet paper especially. 1 roll in each bathroom isnt nearly enough. Also i believe it should be stated the only shower is inside of the master bedroom. The steps going to the loft are pretty demanding too. The poperty was very clean and well kept, and the whole check-in was a breeze. Overall not a bad stay i just believe these few things need changed and stated. Thank you.
We had an ok time in this cabin. This place could be wonderful, but not that much effort has been put into making it so. When we arrived there was trash left in the trash can, presumably left by the previous occupants. The next morning the bag had been ripped by wild life and all the bits of trash were scattered around, which we had to pick and re bag . There is also some left over bits left from construction lying around the yard / such as small cut offs of laminate flooring, which is neither attractive, nor kind to the environment.
The inside of the cabin is spacious, but the layout a bit odd, with the only shower off a bedroom. The kitchen is reasonably equipped but missing a toaster.
The upstairs loft/ mezzanine area seems like a bit of an afterthought, with unfinished flooring and lacking a fan. It gets super hot up there, even when it’s cold downstairs!! Also, the only light switch for the loft is at the bottom of the steep stairs, so if you are planning to stay, be sure to bring a flashlight.
The location is nice and quiet.
Nice place to get away from it all. The driveway was a little treacherous and may not be suitable for all vehicles.

Short trip
New build but very poorly done. Beds are small and the televisions are even smaller. No lights on the tree was a disappointment. This cabin the bare minimum at best. No first aid kid, no bathroom accessories. The drive up the cabin was awful. We definitely needed our 4 wheel drive. Wouldn’t stay here again.
