Loved the concept and of this "old" times pub accommodation. Even being an old building, it was clean and taked care off. I stayed for one night with girlfriend on a cycling holiday. Room was pleasing, staff were generally helpful and breakfast was excellent. However, dinner was a disappointing experience. Waiting time, even for a starter, was extraordinarily long. The same for the main course, which was not as ordered. Worrying thing about this place is that I got the distinct impression that there is one level of service for locals and another for visitors. We were half way through a 70 mile run around the coastal path and needed to set off early so we would have missed breakfast, but the staff were kind enough to cook us some delicious bacon sandwiches to take with us as a packed lunch. In addition to this I left my headphones in the room and didn't realize until I was back in Bembridge. I didn't have time to drive all the way back before getting my Ferry home. I contacted them about it and they kindly packaged and posted them back to me very promptly.
