10/10 Excellent
"Such a cool little place, super cozy and clean. Shelly was a super great host, very accommodating and on arrival she gave us a tour of the property and let us know how everything worked, which was very helpful. I would definitely stay here again, a little slice of heaven hidden within beautiful West coast native bush."

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Totara Flat?
The best time to visit Totara Flat is during the summer months, from December to February, when the weather is generally warmer and drier.

During this period, you can expect average temperatures ranging from 18°C to 25°C, making it ideal for outdoor activities. The longer daylight hours mean more time to explore the natural beauty of the West Coast, from hiking trails to river adventures. This is particularly good for families looking to make the most of their visit without the worry of frequent rain.

For those who prefer a quieter experience and don't mind cooler temperatures, the shoulder seasons of spring (September to November) and autumn (March to May) also offer good opportunities. You'll find fewer crowds and the landscape is often spectacular with spring blooms or autumn colours. While there's a higher chance of rain, the West Coast's weather can be unpredictable at any time of year, so being prepared for all conditions is always a good idea.
Can I cancel my hotel reservation on Expedia?
You can cancel your hotel reservation on Expedia, though it depends on the cancellation policy of your booking. Most bookings are refundable if canceled within 24-48 hours of the scheduled arrival. Be sure to check your booking confirmation for the exact cancellation policy.
