The top floor is entirely for use by the owners. The lower floor has 3 double rooms (1 en suite shower/wc) & a separate shower room/wc. It comfortably accommodates 7 people and benefits from stunning mountain views, several terraces, beautiful grounds, ample parking & a large private pool. The villa provides a perfect holiday home in the sun for families or groups of friends or a peaceful romantic location for couples. Guests will always have exclusive use of the property as the owners never stay when guests are in residence. The guest accommodation is accessed via a well maintained stairway (please see photos if you have accessibility concerns.) Location Casa Mara - conveniently situated 45 minutes by car from Malaga airport and is close to the beach, the picturesque pueblos of Torrox and Frigiliana and bars, restaurants & nightlife of Nerja. It’s within easy reach of Malaga, Mijas, Marbella, Gibraltar & Granada. This beautiful area of southern Spain has a great deal to offer regardless of what time of year you are visiting. Torrox benefits from a fantastic year round climate. In fact, it claims to have the best climate in the entire Mediterranean. The locals may be slightly biased but we’ve visited often throughout the year and their claim seems to be pretty well founded. The villa is in a beautiful secluded countryside location not overlooked by anyone and just a few minutes by car northeast of Torrox Pueblo. Interior The interior of the villa is spacious, well equipped, newly decorated & tastefully furnished throughout with some original artwork. It provides a comfortable and relaxed space to enjoy with air conditioning. 3 double bedrooms: Bedroom 1 has an en-suite shower/wc, king size bed, fitted wardrobes, i-pod dock, air-con and has patio doors opening onto a dining terrace at the rear. Bedroom 2 has a king size bed plus an additional single bed if required, fitted wardrobes, i-pod dock, air-con and has patio doors opening onto a lovely terrace at the front. Bedroom 3 has a double bed & fitted wardrobes with impressive mountain views. All bedrooms have ceiling fans plus some additional free standing fans & heaters for winter months. Separate shower room/wc. Well equipped kitchen with a large fridge/freezer, ceramic hob, oven, microwave, smoothie maker, toaster, kettle, dishwasher, washing machine & all kinds of utensils/cookware/plates. The air-conditioned living room is open plan & has 2 large comfortable sofas, table and chairs, flat screen TV for playing DVDs with a large & varied selection of DVDs to cater for all tastes/ages or you can simply hook up your own laptop/Firestick/Google Chromecast device and stream content. Free WiFi internet connection. Outside Areas Without doubt the most impressive feature of Casa Mara, and something sure to make your holiday truly memorable, is the large secluded pool terrace at the rear with breath taking views where you’ll have exclusive private use of the 8m x 4m swimming pool. There are plenty of sun loungers & parasols. There is a gate between the accommodation and the pool for the safety and security of young children/vulnerable people. The newly refurbished pool is fitted with multi coloured LED lighting which creates a fantastic atmosphere on the terrace in the evening. There is also an outside dining table & chairs on the pool terrace under a shady pergola. There is another al fresco dining table and chairs on the terrace directly outside the rear entrance to the villa, accessed via a flight of stairs from the pool terrace. This terrace can be accessed from inside the villa from the living room and the en-suite bedroom. It is equipped with a decent sized gas BBQ. There are several other terraces including a roof top terrace perfect for enjoying a glass of wine & watching the sun set over the mountains, a terrace at the side of the property & a large stepped terrace at the front leading to/accessible from bedroom 2. There is a large private gated driveway with parking for several cars. The property is equipped with CCTV cameras for your and the owners security for when the property is unoccupied The beautiful garden has an abundance of colourful oleanders, bougainvillea & olive, orange, lemon & fig trees Things to do …………..….. Very private and very relaxing. Nice large pool. The owner were very helpfull and asked many times if everything was fine. If you are seeking a relaxing stay we can recoomed this villa. The house is an 10 minutter drive from Torrox Costa and 5 minuttes drive from Torrox. We recommend to have a car - but its possible to walk down to Torrox - 30-40 minuttes walk. Our son did walk to Torrox Costa and it took him 2 hours. The view in the evenings/nights are very beautifull and you only hear sounds from the insecs singing. Ian and Wendy were excellent at keeping in touch and throughout the whole process and answering any questions we had prior to our arrival and have also requested feedback directly so they can ensure consistency in the experiences of their guests - which we really value. The villa managers were also lovely and welcoming and escorted us personally to the villa to ensure everything was in place when we arrived.The villa itself was well equipped, the pool is an excellent size and depth and we spent most of our time there. The villa has stunning views of the surrounding villages/countryside, of sunrises and sunsets and lots of star gazing on clear nights! We would advise though, that the drive up is a little on the adventurous side, so would recommend an automatic car, a confident driver and a side order of the Spanish attitude of ‘tranquilo’!The villa is separate to the main areas used by the owners (who are not in residence when the villa is rented out) so there are steps to access the villa. To access the pool area from the lounge, there were steps – but there is a gate which can be closed if you have toddlers. We didn’t find this an issue at all, but someone with restricted mobility may want to consider this as a factor.The villa also has visiting cats so for any cat lovers (myself!) make sure you grab some dried cat food and you can enjoy feeding them and watching them sunbathe ##### Nikki H. On our first day we were met by the agents who led the way, Id say this is very much needed. The roads to the villas in the mountain do not favour wrong turns. Once we'd done the journey a couple of times it was well worth it for the location.The Villa is clean, tidy, spacious, well maintained and well equipped. There are lots of beaches to choose from just 15 minutes away as well as beautiful towns, restaurants and Nerja. The house is very clean and has a fully equipped kitchen. It is situated on the lower floor of the building and has multiple terraces with furniture at different levels for the best sunny or shady spot at each time of the day. The pool is great with sun, shade and a great view across the valley. It is a very quiet location, and still only 15 minutes from the beaches at Torrox Playa and Nerja. Lots to do in the area; beautiful villages to visit, restaurants, canoeing, hiking, and of course the beaches. Only 45 minutes from the Malaga airport. We really recommend this house. ##### Kike B. Die Lage der Villa ist sehr einzigartig auf einem Berg gelegen. Der Weg dorthin ist sehr steil und eng. Für geübte Autofahrer aber kein Problem. Dafür wird man mit einer spektakulären Aussicht belohnt. Die Villa ist sehr geräumig und äußerst gut ausgestattet. Selbst Schwimmzubehör wie Poolnudeln und Luftmatratzen waren vorhanden! Die Sauberkeit möchten wir wirklich hervorheben. Hier gab es nichts zu beanstanden. Die Kommunikation mit den Verwaltern war im großen und ganzen super. Gerade Tim und Michelle waren sehr nett! Allerdings hätten wir uns eine bessere Erreichbarkeit gewünscht. So dauerte es zum Beispiel bei einem sehr dringenden Problem bis zu 24 Stunden, bis wir eine Rückmeldung erhalten haben. Ein Rückruf auf bis zu vier Anrufe unserseits erfolgte leider nicht. Als wir jedoch jemanden erreicht hatten, wurde sich sofort um unsere Probleme gekümmert! Wer Ruhe, eine tolle Villa und einen noch tolleren Pool haben möchte, können wir die Casa Mara nur empfehlen! P.s. Gute Kenntnisse in Englisch oder Spanisch sollten vorhanden sein. Die Gastgeber kommen ursprünglich aus Großbritanien. ##### Felix T. Loved our stay here. The house is so homely and so well-appointed. We have stayed at a few different places now, in Andalusia and this is far and away our absolute favourite. The swimming pool was particularly appreciated- such a good size and depth- and having the upper and lower patios. We lingered over the beautiful views every single day- especially in the evenings. We were also so pleased to have such nicely fitted, well-working bathrooms and such a well-equipped kitchen. It felt like everything had been considered so carefully. Beautiful garden too. Well equipped villa with very comfy beds and additional bedding if needed. Defo need an hire car which you can arrange locally in nearby Torrox. Just 45 mins from Malaga and only 10 min drive to torrox costa. Ian and Wendy are great hosts who are always on hand to answer any questions or advice you may need. ##### John R.
