We recently enjoyed our holiday stay at the Lindisfarne bed and breakfast in Stromness. This was our first visit to the Orkney Islands and we stayed there for two weeks. Kevin and Debbie were our host's at the B and B. They both looked after us superbly. The quality of the accommodation was excellent and the breakfast was generous and delicious. We will most certainly be returning and cannot find the word's to thank both Debbie and Kevin for their fantastic hospitality.

I stayed at the Harbour House B&B for 2 nights the room I was given was really lovely. Keith and his wife were both very friendly and welcoming and made both myself and my small dog very welcome. Lovely hot breakfast, or continental breakfast brought to your room at a time of your choice between 07.30 and 09.00, both excellent. Would recommend this lovely B&B as a wonderful place to stay.

This period attracts travellers eager to explore the rugged beauty of the North Coast of Scotland, where the stunning landscapes and rich history come together. As the weather warms up, visitors can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, including hiking along the famous John O'Groats Trail or taking in the breathtaking views from Dunnet Head.
In May, temperatures typically hover around 10 to 15 degrees Celsius, creating pleasant conditions for sightseeing and outdoor adventures. This is an ideal time to explore the beautiful sandy beaches, such as Thurso East, or visit the nearby Orkney Islands, which are just a short ferry ride away. The longer daylight hours enhance the experience, allowing for more time to soak in the natural surroundings.
For those looking for a more budget-friendly option, consider visiting in November. While this is outside the peak tourist season, the autumn colours can create a picturesque backdrop, and the area is much quieter, allowing for a more intimate experience with the local culture and scenery.
