Nobody at the property, they charge extra fees for sheets and towels. Self check in and you have to make your bed. Despite the beautiful view, I would not go back there…

looks great online, but once you arrive there is a HUGE problem with this hotel- it sits the very very close to the dock (just a few meters) …certainly closest of all the hotels to the cruise ships- seems convenient, and would normally be great to have a “fjord view room with balcony” as we booked (at a very high price for one night > 10,000 NOK to get a view and room to sleep 3 people) only to find that the cruise ships dock there and is like a massive 14-story WALL COMPLETELY OBSTRUCTING any VIEW to the Fjord, or view to anything at all…. so why do they charge for this fjord view room and what use is a balcony to sit looking at a wall like a skyscraper building in front of you? In our case, the cruise ship was there upon arrival and docked all day, left at 10 pm that night, and another one arrived in it’s place before 7:30 am the next morning before we could get a peak at the fjord from our room. (photos attached). I finally approached hotel management and they very not only unwilling to adjust any charges for the “fjord view room’ but entirely unsympathetic, and cited that their website informs guests of this possibility…. I went over the pages with them, and it is many clicks to pages you would not otherwise see, and shows a cruise ship schedule. No direct info relating to view…. I advised them to make it more explicit by informing guests of this directly, which they seem to have no interest in. In any case, Very disappointing stay, and poor responsiveness.
