"This room was simple, but clean and the shower was good. The owner gave me an upgrade so that I did not have to share a bathroom. For the price, it exceeded my expectations."

"I love this hotel, this is my third stay, first time with the family.
The hotel overall is gorgeous in beautiful surroundings.
The restaurant was lovely as was the food and the cocktails and the service was impeccable.
The room was a family room and was huge! No falling over each other loads of space, plus an added touch the fan was already running when we got there as it was a warm day, thank you.
Tiny issue with team doors banging in the morning (not unreasonable time but nonetheless) but this will not stop booking another visit at all. "
"The stay was fabulous. The Red Lion was simply magnificent, the welcome super, pub ambiance super friendly all in all we will be attending and revisiting again
The Red Lion is tucked away, just follow the sign as the place does ooz quality, has its own history which is fascinating its just great. Enjoy your stay "
"The host never responded to any text or chat messages from us once we were given his contact details three days prior to the booking. There was no email address only a mobile phone with no voice mail available to leave a message. Neither did he respond to any emails sent by Vrbo support. Vrbo did not have any additional information about the property apart from that on the website and did not allow the booking to be cancelled until we actually arrived at the property despite the complete lack of communication from the host. We arrived at the property and were unable to gain access. The neighbours had never heard of the host, his name was unknown to them as an owner of the property. It has not been available to rent for some time. It is advertised as a house but it is a downstairs apartment/flat. Added to which it was surrounded by scaffolding. We immediately rang Vrbo support who cancelled the booking and arranged an immediate refund of our money. We then had to find, at very short notice, alternative local accommodation as we needed to be in the immediate area that night to be near a relative. The whole experience was stressful since we were away from home prior to the start of the booking and were travelling a considerable distance with no information or assurance about the property and its access, since there was no communication from the host and Vrbo were unable to do anything about this.
