The Blacksmith Shop

Location was great distance from Cal Poly Humboldt. Hotel interior was ragged and falling apart. There was no person attending the front desk, just a computer with a person on screen to process your stay, and dispense your room key and receipt. Hallway carpet was ripped and falling apart. Clearly a trip hazard at the top of the stairs. Room appeared cleanness, however, when I pulled back the spread to go to bed there were multiple brown stains on sheet that were not washed into fabric, just sitting on top of fabric. Yuck!! Very bad stuff! When I went downstairs to talk to person on screen, all of a sudden a “manager” popped out of an office. He came and saw stains and insisted they were not to blame. When I asked him who should then take responsibility for the stains, he said he would get me a different room. I was staying in a King room and he came back and offered a Queen room. I requested a refund for my stay and he first said no, but eventually agreed. After packing up my car, I went to front desk where now two managers finally told me I would get refund. They never gave refund. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND TREATMENT I still want my refund that they told me I would get. I would never suggest that anyone should stay in a place that is as unclean and customers are treated as such. Wish I could give a better review but my experience was a nightmare. I had to find a new room in the middle of the night at a different location. I will never stay here again.

Everything was good at this hotel except for the beds. We switched rooms and the second one was as uncomfortable and we woke up each day with backaches.

Elevator was down. Manager very accommodating.
