Modern designer cottage with 360-degree views of vines & wildlife A modern designer cottage sitting atop a 12 acre property with 360 degree views of the beautiful and bountiful wine growing and ranching region of The California Central Coast next door to a world renowned Bio-dynamic Winery. A large deck for outdoor dining, drinking, watching our local wildlife and contemplating the joys of life. A spacious open plan sitting and dining area with central island with more of those panoramic views outside. Ideal for communing, chilling and enjoying the epicurean delights of wine country. Two spacious double bedrooms with high quality queen beds, freshly ironed linens and a European bathroom complete with a large walk in rain-head shower. Perfect for resting and refreshing. A bocce ball court with a view to die for, and miles of trails if you are feeling energetic. All this only 12 minutes off the 101, in the heart of over 100 wineries, a 15-minute drive to the bars, restaurants and shopping of Paso Robles, Templeton and Atascadero and 30 minutes to the coast from Morro Bay to Hearst Castle. Our cottage is designed for adults and sleeps 4\. It has every thing you need for a memorable stay on the central coast, for a weekend, a week or a month. Our kitchen comes with everything you need to enjoy meals at home with an outside BBQ that might have one of the best views of any BBQ in California. The home is a contemporary design reflecting the owners' international travels and has all the comforts of home including high quality freshly ironed bed linen, towels, bathroom supplies, hair dryer and plenty of wardrobe space. Super efficient heating & a/c. Filtered water. High speed WiFi on a property that is to all intents and purposes 'off the grid' and self-sufficient. We try to keep our environmental footprint to a minimum. Outside there are 13 acres grazed by deer, horses, cattle, sheep and llamas which guests can walk around. Guests are also welcome to use the bocce ball court which might have the best views from the court anywhere. We live on the property, and will welcome you with a package of local delicacies along with a native's knowledge of things to do in the area. Let us know if its beach, mountains, towns, wineries, trails, riding, shopping, dining, drinking you are looking to indulge in. We're confident we can give you great local recommendations and we have also arranged some special packages with local wineries, olive oil producers and coffee roasters. We are lucky enough to have lived all over the world, and chose to return here as the closest place to paradise for modern living that we can find. The property is also a working vineyard and we do have animals so cannot accept children under the age of eleven. Also, we always buy travel insurance. Between Pandemics, natural disasters, unexpected health issues and airline calamities it’s always possible that travel plans get disrupted. The cost per trip is minimal and annual polices are also relatively inexpensive. The property itself is built and fitted to the highest standards, and set in the most stunning of locations with incredible views. The property is beautiful. I enjoyed waking up to watch the sunrise with my coffee and seeing the resident llama and sheep, along with their babies, saunter by. I even spotted a few deer! Clive and Karrin are simply wonderful people. And Kuona Cottage... imagine looking 360 degrees from an elevation and seeing nothing but a horizon of spectacular rolling California hills and plots of green vineyards. Its breathtaking. The cottage is clean, bright, simple and lovely, and all super close to Templeton and amazing wineries. We'll be back. ##### Bud T. It is modern and comfortable with great beds and relaxing views from every window. It is wonderfully quiet at night! You feel like you're miles away from everything but it is just a short, pleasant drive to wineries and stores. Although sunny, the weather was cooler for our stay so we enjoyed the ambiance of the fireplace which also warms up the place very well too. The mornings were a little too chilly to sit out on the deck but the many windows allowed us to stay warm inside and still enjoy the beautiful views. As it was a little warmer in the evening, we did get to sit out on the deck and enjoy a glass of wine. Karrin and Clive were friendly and available if we needed anything, which we did not. We will definitely try to stay here again when in Paso Robles. Thank you Karrin and Clive for our relaxing break from work and the daily routine! ##### Stacy J. The gorgeous property and well-appointed cottage set the tone for our vacation getaway. Karrin and Clive were the consummate gracious hosts who took the time to recognize our 30th wedding anniversary. This gesture was so thoughtful. We also made use of the local wine, honey, coffee, and olive oil! Although it rained on certain days, the comfort of the cottage made us feel warm and cozy. The chef's kitchen afforded us the opportunity to cook some delicious meals. Some locations we visited: Pier 46 – took home sea bass for dinner; Trader Joe’s; Main Street Templeton; BL Brasserie, a must; 1122 – Speak Easy; walked around the PR square, Hearst Ranch Winery, watched the elephant seals, ate at Linn’s in Cambria Village, and took in the flora and fauna on the property. From mornings w/Mother deer & her baby doe, beautiful birds singing & cute little cotton tail bunnies prancing. To serene & silent nights eclipsing view w/the city lights & star lights in a sympathy of serenity. Our group came back from wine tasting & supper in Paso Robles when we saw a satellite from SpaceX debri re-enter the atmosphere. I was spell bound; the moment seemed to last longer than just a couple seconds. The debri streamed across the night sky from south to north like a red & orange fireball falling across the atmosphere disappearing into the event horizon like lighting catching up to thunder it was gone in a blink of an eye.These experiences like expressed above at Kuona cottage are what makes it great. The quiet simplistic pleasantries of life create a positive life perspective. Mix in friends & family; The memories we’ve made here i am beyond blessed to bare forever.
