The cottage itself had everything we needed and it has been finished to a very high standard. Unlike a lot of places the appliances are from quality manufacturers such as Samsung (fridge, oven, and dishwasher), AEG (washing machine), and Bosch (gas hob), and the beds are super comfy with crisp white linen on them. Cut off from the (quiet) road also it feels quite alone and it is not overlooked. To cap it off the host was very helpful and gave us all the information we needed for a great stay. That included a list of lovely walks, of various grades, which can be done from/to the cottage, and there is also a nice pub within easy walking distance, which overlooks the estuary (George III Inn).
