They should consider changing the name to Emerald Queen Casino and Hotel, because their focus is definitely toward the casino portion of their operations, and the hotel seems to be more of an afterthought. Although the hotel implemented a policy in Jan 2017 of all non-smoking rooms, the rooms still reek of cigarette smoke (including the always non-smoking rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors). I awoke each morning with a sore throat. As all hotel "guests" must transit the casino floor, bags are questioned at any of the entrances...even my take-away meal from a nearby restaurant was considered suspect. Finding a decent parking space was challenging and, although security would patrol the lots, I was surprised each morning to discover my car was still intact. If my business trip had been longer than a week, I would have re-booked to another hotel after the first night.
