Ac needs to be worked on, it was a little hot in the room and it wasn't as pleasant to sleep in, i think the rooms should be remodeled to a more modern look but overall good stay!

The pictures & description of the property are totally not reflecting the true condition of the hotel. The property is so outdated & old. The towels were very hard, that you can tell no fabric softener can help anymore. Some staff didn’t even know what the wi-fi is, where the pedestrian walk that lead to the station is, some furnitures are torn, and list just go on & on. Restaurants close by 8PM, bar is not even open anymore. You can tell that the hotel was great when it was built but the heyday was long gone; and no update has been taken so so long—if any.

The room although small had everything you could need for a stay. Coffee pot, refrigerator, amenities, etc. the only downside was the lobby furniture desperately needs replacement. The staff was professional and attentive and the hotel is a seven minute walk to the train station.

Overall nice
This hotel is a wedding venue and is very elegant. We stayed on the 9th floor- which hasn’t yet been remodeled; so the carpets are really dirty in the halls but the room condition was pretty good if 70s fashion! Breakfast is nice but not worth 2200yen in our opinion. The hotel is in a nice part of Tachikawa, with easy access to the eki and Tama monorail via elevated walkways. Overall a pleasant stay—- beds were a bit softer than the usual Japanese hotel beds and the room wasn’t too tiny.

Tricky booking from the Expedia US site
I have booked this hotel thru Expedia US site. My reservation showed "1 adult and 1 kid in 2 single beds including breakfast " The rate was shown in both US$ and Japanese yen. Not only I had to pay about $40 extra, also I was told my rate included ONLY 1 person not 2. I ended up paying for my kid's mediocre breakfast about $15. Next day, we just went out to eat and I did not use my voucher for the second day. If the rate was shown in US currency only at the time of booking, I would understand the difference in price due to the exchange rate. At the time of my trip, exchange rate was pretty good for US travelers. It should not be $40 extra. As for the hotel, it's kinda old and not the best wi-fi signal. I stayed at Grand Hotel in Tachikawa last year. Their breakfast is much better and the room was spacious. Grand is much closer to Tachikawa station. It was sold out this is why I ended up with Palace hotel.

閉業予定だとしても、やる気なさすぎ… レストランはほとんどの店がクローズしていて、ホテル内も閑散としていて暗く、旅行客を暗い気持ちにさせます。 部屋はカビ臭い、お風呂はカビだらけ、部屋着は着古された皮脂の匂いがびっしりこびりついていて着れず、仕方ないので下着で寝ました。。 ディナーは中華にしました（そもそも和食と中華しかあいてない）が、18:30に来店して季節おすすめメニューの海鮮冷麺は売り切れって…どんだけ在庫制限してるの？ 味は美味しかったしスタッフさんが大変親切だったのが救いでした。 リフレッシュしたくて旅行にきてるのに、ビジネス事情をもろ出しにしないでほしい。 パレスホテルのブランドイメージかなり下がりました。

デザイナーズルームに泊まったのですが、高級感があってとても感じが良かったです。チェックインの時のフロントの対応が、もう少し丁寧であれば良かったと思います。旅慣れてない人だと戸惑うかも知れません　(たとえば、「お部屋へは、あちらのエレベーターからお越しください」とか)

チェックインアウトの時間が長くてとても良かった。朝食のブッフェが手頃で種類もあった。今回は立川ステージガーデンに用事があり宿泊。駅やコンビニも近いしベストな場所だった。また立川ステージガーデンに用事がある時は泊まりたい。
