We had an excellent stay at Ibis Budget Sydney East, the staff were particularly helpful and friendly in every way. The breakfast's were good, and we enjoyed a full one every day. The position in regards to the centre of Sydney was good, took us about 20 minutes to reach the centre, and I am a slow walker. It was good for public transport too.

Nice, clean basic hotel. Nothing special to write about but greeted by friendly, helpful staff on arrival and our room was ready way before official check in time. Room was small but again clean and tidy. Comfortable bed with tea/coffee facilities although no safe. Aircon was good, as was the bathroom. Location was a fairly far from the centre (30/40 min walk to Opera House) but I didn’t mind as it was a nice walk through the Botanical Gardens. Note: the official entrance is to the rear of the building. The entrance from the main road is only stairs and no lifts. There are a couple of bars and coffee shops as you walk into the centre and overall, decent stay and would recommend to others.

Pros: -Staff was very professional and the rooms were cleaned daily -Quiet area -Close to many tourist areas and restaurants Cons: -Cleaning staff would often not clean dirty mugs or utensils, or forget to replace bathroom mats -Shower does not have a curtain or anything to prevent water from spreading through whole bathroom floor How to improve: -Add a shower curtain to prevent water spreading everywhere -It would help if a microwave was added to the room, as if your budget is limited, there are not a lot of items at the grocery store that you can eat without heating it up first
