We are extremely pleased with the host’s hospitality and support throughout our stay. From the moment we arrived, she made us feel completely at home. The host looked after us in every single way she could, and her kindness truly made a difference to our holiday. The room was bright, spacious, and filled with fresh air and natural light — perfect for a comfortable and relaxing stay. My family really enjoyed the peaceful environment and the cleanliness of the property. We will definitely return in the future and book this same property whenever we visit Swansea. It is an ideal place for families, couples, or anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming holiday stay. Highly recommended for all holiday makers.

Good stay

Lovely cottage rooms with all you need, Jackie is a great host and very welcoming. The cottage is 2 doors away from a good pub and the food was reasonably priced and delicious, The Joiners Arms. Theres another pub about 25 metres away called The Valley Hotel, which looks good but we never tried it.

We were able to park on the drive of the cottage, there was only room for one car so I think parking would be a struggle in high season. We were shown to our room which was pretty, cottage like, vintage and clean. The window was behind the bed so I can’t speak of the views. We had the only en-suite room, which had a bubble bath with a shower on the tap. There was a tray in the room with coffee and tea bags, a small jug of milk and a bottle of tap water. The mattress was comfortable and the pillows soft Reviews I had read prior to booking mentioned the breakfasts, there were photographs of the breakfasts, so I felt sure I had booked a bed and breakfast. There were no breakfasts on offer. I believe Russell and Jackie lived downstairs, but there were 5/6 closed doors downstairs so when we chose to leave the next day we were unsure where to find them so unfortunately had to leave without saying goodbye. The accommodation wasn’t for us.

Jackie and Russell were really friendly and welcoming and the room was lovely. Very comfortable bed and very nice to have the ensuite! Myrtle Cottage is in the heart of Bishopston and literally next door to a couple of pubs so great options for food and a beer! Easy driving to all the best parts of the beautiful Gower from this location. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Lovely stay in Bishopston. Comfortable, very clean, welcoming and well situated for exploring the Gower Peninsula. The hosts were very friendly, helpful and hard working offering good advice on where to eat and visit in the area. They also very kindly supplied me with fresh milk twice a day for tea and even recommended a local garage to take my car to who looked at it free of charge. A really nice trip to the Gower

Exceeded Expectations

The accommodation exceeded expectations. We liked its location next to a very friendly pub and not having to use the car, being able to walk to the coastal footpaths. We also appreciated Jackie's care and attention to detail; everything we needed - and more - was provided. We've stayed on the Gower many times and this was one of the best!

The hosts Jackie and Russell were adorable,and nothing was too much to ask. The room and bathroom was clean and comfortable, tea and coffee and a kettle in the room. There's two pubs very close by the property,good for food and drinks and socialising. A bus can take you straight into Swansea in about 45 minutes,and it not too far from the beach. We Hope to come again when the weather is warmer. Beautiful country cottage, thank you Jackie and Russell for having us stay at your home.
