Find hotels in Surribas from £22

The best area to stay in Surribas is the historic centre, particularly around Praza Maior and Rúa Nova.

This area is the heart of Surribas, known for its well-preserved mediaeval architecture and narrow, winding streets. You'll find many independent shops, traditional taverns, and restaurants serving local Galician cuisine. The Praza Maior is a bustling central square, often hosting local markets and events, while Rúa Nova is one of the main pedestrian thoroughfares.

Couples will find this area particularly appealing. The romantic setting of the old town, with its stone buildings and intimate dining spots, provides a lovely backdrop for a relaxing getaway. You're also within easy walking distance of cultural attractions like the Surribas Cathedral and the Museo de Belas Artes.

For travellers looking for a slightly quieter experience but still wanting to be close to the action, the areas just outside the historic walls, particularly around the Alameda Park, offer a good balance. Here, you'll often find hotels with a bit more space and modern amenities, while still being a short stroll from the Praza Maior.

The best time to visit Surribas is typically during the late spring (May to June) and early autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant for exploring.

During these months, you'll find comfortable temperatures, generally ranging from 18°C to 25°C, and less rainfall compared to the winter months. This makes it ideal for enjoying outdoor activities like hiking along the coastal paths or visiting the vineyards that dot the landscape. The crowds are also generally smaller than during the peak summer season, allowing for a more relaxed experience.

Summer (July and August) is also a popular time, offering the warmest weather and plenty of sunshine, with temperatures often reaching 25°C to 30°C. This period is superb for those who want to spend time on the nearby beaches or enjoy water sports. However, it's also the busiest time, so you can expect more people and higher prices for accommodation.

For those interested in the local gastronomy and wine, early autumn is particularly appealing as it coincides with the grape harvest season (vendimia) in the surrounding Rías Baixas wine region.
