Exterior needs cleaning, spider webs and bugs in the windows. The pool and spa were great! Messages were first class. Access to the pool area is very cumbersome and not made to be accessible to most challenged guests. Grounds were beautiful! Staff was helpful.

The staff were exceptional and all without fail very friendly and helpful. The building and grounds are stunning, really enchanting and peaceful. Food was very good, wine was excellent. The room I stayed in was a new room (Room 20). Others in my family stayed in room 18 & 19. All were excellent. They were all a large size and very well appointed with quality touches. Very clean room and the bed was so very comfortable!! The chef baked my mum and dad a special diamond wedding anniversary cake, at my request, and staff went out of their way to ensure the celebrations were special. Overall we had a really positive experience and I would certainly stay again.

I liked the hotel and had no issues except with the paper thin walls and floors. The difference between a concrete build and wood, and an old building and a new, is obvious in an old wood house which is what this is. It definitely is not a real hotel, in that sense, because it hasn’t been upgraded for privacy. Too bad insulation wasn’t blown in before it was leased by a hotel. BUT we had a great dog friendly suite with a door to the garden and outside seating, dog treats, beds (a little unclean) and bowls to go along with the room. Supper and breakfast were good, service was attentive. Well maintained grounds, and lovely courtyard gardens, lots of shaded parking (great during warm seasons) and a nice history to go along with the building. Out in the country and away from the city. No real complaints.

Our room was super clean and we stayed in a family room where we had two separate floors so our son slept downstairs on the sofa bed and we had a bedroom upstairs where the bathroom was as well. The main room that our son was in was very spacious although the view wasn’t brilliant as we were looking out onto the car park but that’s full of trees so that didn’t really matter. The great thing was that our room was just above where the spa and pool was so it was really easy to get there, which was fantastic. The bedroom itself was quite small, but that didn’t really matter and it was right opposite the bathroom which was very useful. I would say that for the money the room could’ve been kept a little bit better. For example, one of the blinds had a bit missing so it let the lighting. Also there were two TVs one in the main room and one in the bedroom which was fantastic, but it would’ve been good if they were smart TVs. Some of the furniture was a little bit scratched as well so I wouldn’t say that the state of the room was excellent but the cleanliness was. The staff were absolutely amazing and really we couldn’t have asked for them to be any more friendly than they were. The spa was lovely not massive but good enough for us. The pool was a nice size. I wouldn’t say very big. There was a steam room and a sauna room which were very good. The hot tub was probably the best thing as I’ve never been in one that is quite as powerful! All in all we really enjoyed our stay!

What a fabulous place ,quite breathtaking on approach to the hotel .Staff were very friendly and helpful,we were given an upgrade so that was a lovely surprise and the room didn't disappoint.We had dinner there on our first night which was super. Would definitely stay there again ...in fact have recommended it already to friends who are looking to stay in the next 6 months
