It was our turnaround point, though the trail can be followed for another few miles. In normal years, the water runs above the rock shelf you see in front of you for a good portion of the year. There was an issue with the Riverview I was looking forward to but the room had a hot water issue, so we were given a forest view with a fireplace. (We had our choice to keep the riverview) It was toasty warm. The only thing I would say is that the bed could have been a little more comfortable, as my husbands back and my hips were achy each morning. We would definitely come back to Skamania Lodge!
