There are many eatery's and shopping places conveniently located from 10 minutes away to 30 minutes, we are located close to the ATV Sunrise trail, which is road accessible from the cabin. We tend to have many deer and turkeys to watch as well when you are just sitting and enjoying your time away. Our dog had a safe place to walk in the backyard and down the quiet road, and we visited Roger’s point close by to take her to a local beach. Tunk Joy bakery nearby was such a treat. Our host Vicki was excellent and so responsive to our questions, and she even fixed a small snafu with the TV right away. It’s great having a local host! It was easy to get to, not far off US Route 1\. The cabin is located on a quite peaceful lot surrounded by woods. The cabin itself was beautiful and sparkling clean!! It was so nice to be greeted by a lovely welcome note from the hosts with a bottle of local wine after a long drive. Kitchen was functional, beds were comfy and the bathrooms were modern and spacious. My dog who traveled with us also felt very comfortable in the cabin. She also really loved the raised food/water bowls the hosts left out for 4 legged friends. The hosts also had a guide to the area which was helpful as we had never traveled to Downeast Maine before. It was only about an hour from Acadia National Park but if you stay here read the host guide as there are many other things to do in the area that are worth the detour.
