Minnŏ Boutique Hotel & Spa

10/10 Excellent

"Beautiful and clean hotel at an amazing location. The restaurant was amazing. Such a great luxury stay!"

Evlalia Studios & Villas

10/10 Excellent

"It was a joy to stay at Evlalia Studios and Villas. The view from my balcony was breathtakingly beautiful I almost didn't want to leave it. Just a 15 minute walk from the port was well worth it. The staff was attentive, informative and eager to attend to my individual needs. If you want to be transported this is the place to stay."

Villa Kentavros Fully private pool villa away from it all!

10/10 Excellent

"We had a really great experience from beginning to end. The villa was well equipped, comfortable, convenient for both sides of the island (but we had a car for the short drive into Skopelos town), spotless and it was cleaned again mid-week. We swam in the pool every day, and had breakfast on the patio looking down the valley to Skopelos town every morning. There are a network of good running and hiking tracks straight out of the villa. We hired a motor boat from Skopelos and went right round the Island, stopping in secluded bays, swimming in the crystal clear water and of course stopping off at the Mama-Mia chapel. There are numerous restaurants for every budget and plenty of shops ranging from specialist butchers, fishmongers, bakers and grocers through to decent supermarkets. Dimitris could not have been more helpful with pre-visit admin and questions, and with his local team answering questions and offering advise even when Dimitris was himself on holiday. Is a six star review possible! Skopelos, VRBO, Kentavros and Dimitris"

Villa Antigoni - Two Bedroom Villa, Sleeps 4

10/10 Excellent

"We loved this villa so much. It was typically Greek and was located in the mountains overlooking a beautiful valley. The bird life was exceptional with bee eaters, Sardinian warblers and buzzards visible all day and owls at night. The pool was clean and refreshing, the balcony was amazing. You definitely need a car and the track is rough near the end but the resorts of Panormus, Agnontas and Liminari are nearby. Great fish restaurant in Agnontas. Cleaners, Maria and Vera, were lovely and friendly. Everything works in the villa - washing machine, shower, etc. Beach villas readily available if any problems but we had none. Just loved the peace and tranquility. Villa was right by a hiking track to Panormos."

Hotel Nereides

10/10 Excellent

"The hotel and people are lovely. All was very good … breakfasts, pool area … and the rooms are modern and very well appointed. It’s a pretty easy downhill walk to the port, but occasionally one may choose to return after dinner by taxi, €7-8. The excursion to various beaches and to the Chora are very interesting."

Aegean Wave Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"The view was absolutely stunning- we had a balcony overlooking the sea and the sunset. Apartment was very comfortable. We will certainly go back! Spectacular view from the bar for evening drinks & restaurant for a breakfast. Location is great if you have a car as situated on the hill between Glossa and Loutraki. You can walk to either town or the nearest bus stop on narrow winding roads. Highly recommended for one of the best sunset spots on the island !"

4 Epoches hotel

10/10 Excellent

"A beautiful hotel, with attractive calming decor and fabulous facilities and a lovely cooling swimming pool although the beach is only a short walk The staff are all very friendly and helpful and the beds are the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on in Greece!! Breakfast was included and was great every morning with a huge choice of fresh tasty produce Definitely recommend"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Steni Vala?

The best area to stay in Steni Vala is within the village centre itself, particularly along the waterfront.

This charming fishing village is small and easily navigable on foot. The main activity revolves around the picturesque harbour, where you'll find a selection of tavernas and cafes lining the shore. The village is known for its relaxed pace and traditional Greek island character.

Couples looking for a tranquil escape will find Steni Vala ideal. The waterfront offers lovely views and a romantic setting for evening meals. Many accommodations are just a short stroll from the sea, allowing for easy access to swimming spots and boat trips to nearby beaches.

When is the best time to go to Steni Vala?

The best time to go to Steni Vala is during the shoulder seasons of May, early June, or September, or for a livelier experience, in July and August.

For those who prefer a quieter holiday with pleasant weather, May, early June, and September are ideal. During these months, the temperatures are warm enough for swimming and sunbathing, typically ranging from 20-28°C, but the crowds are smaller. You'll find it easier to secure a table at popular tavernas and have more space on the beaches. This period is great for couples seeking a peaceful escape with opportunities for boat trips and coastal walks without the peak season rush.

If you enjoy a bustling atmosphere and don't mind more people, July and August offer the warmest weather, with temperatures often exceeding 30°C. This is the peak season, meaning everything is fully open, and there's a lively holiday mood. Families often find these months best as all activities and facilities are in full swing, and the sea is at its warmest for swimming and water sports.
