A short seashell collecting walk along the seashore to the south will bring you to the Inlet and a view across the river of St. Augustine, it's Bayfront, the Fort and it's historic skyline. Also, near the Penthouse is the entrance to a walking/biking boardwalk under the Vilano Bridge into the Vilano Bach Town Center. There you can stroll down palm tree-lined Vilano Road (Vilano's "Main Street") along sea-colored sidewalk pavers to the Vilano Pier which offers beautiful sunset views across the river to Historic St. Augustine. You can also fish off the Pier. On your way back through the Art Deco/Florida Vernacular-styled Vilano Beach Town Center, stop in for a great meal at one of five local restaurants ranging from pizza to Chinese to Italian to seafood. The room was super clean and beautifully decorated. The bed was very comfortable and I slept well every night. We also appreciated the beach chairs and extra towels. The bed was very comfortable but difficult to climb into.We would have liked to open the windows, but the windows were unstable.Coupons offered had expired.The stairs were sometimes hot, slippery and difficult to navigate. Beach is literally steps from the door....the views and sounds of the waves absolutely peaceful. The owners extremely attentive and timely with any questions. A little welcome coffee, water, coupons, and free local attraction tickets with a personalized note was so surprisingly nice touch. We WILL recommend to our friends and family and we WILL be back in the very near future. Perfect location, 10 min from downtown St. Augustine and a 2 min walk from Vilano Beach. We could see the ocean from our room! Property had everything we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!!
