Mermiad Landing is the bottom floor unit in a 2 story house called Pirate's Cove. Private entrance, private kayaks, canoe and paddleboard, two mountain bikes and all of the comforts of home. Explore the natural beauty of the crystal clear Weeki Wachee River by kayaks or canoe from your backyard and enjoy the breeze from the dock or backyard!! Home offers a queen bed in the master bedroom, a sectional sleeper sofa in the living room. 3 single person Kayaks, a tandem kayak, and 1 small canoe suitable for 1 adult or two children are included in your stay for an easy paddle to the crystal clear Weeki Wachee River, restaurants and local recreation area. We also offer use of our totally clear kayaks for an additional fee.There are plenty of restaurants, shops and recreation and entertainment within a short driving distance, including the WORLD FAMOUS WEEKI WACHEE MERMAID SHOW at the Weeki Wachee Springs State Park also home of the Buccaneer Bay Waterpark! Pine Island beach is a short 10 minute drive where you can soak up the sun on the sand or watch a beautiful sunset. There are nearby biking trails. Boats can be rented at very reasonable prices only 10 minutes away at Hernando Beach for a day of fishing or scalloping in season! A little closer is Rogers Park, a little sandy beach on the river accompanied by an adjacent riverfront restaurant. Only 10min away from weeki watchee park. Plenty of kayaks available at the property and only a couple minutes paddle to crystal clear water. The kids had an awesome time swimming and paddeling around. House was very clean and enjoyed sitting outside. After we entered the code, the door unlocked, and we saw a lovely Mermaid getaway that was just perfect for our Christmas 🎄 getaway for the two of us. The only downside was the constant running of some pump in the laundry room, abd the 3rd evening, the family that stayed upstairs were a bit loud. Other than this, we kayaked, took short sightseeing jaunts, and dined at several local tasty restaurants. We will definitely come back! This rental has a great location to Weeki Wachee park, a screened in patio that was great for us playing games. We were able to cook easily with the stove and the fridge. Getting into the rental was very clear and easy instructions to walk through the door through the garage to the rental door. I slept on the pullout sofa and my friend slept in the bedroom. The pullout mattress has a huge brown stain on it. In general the unit really needs a deep cleaning. Unfortunately I don’t believe that we will return. The temperature is controlled by the rental unit upstairs. We had a family with three young children upstairs which was too much for me with all the noise and stomping around. I didn’t realize there would be another rental upstairs when we booked the place. The living room has a window unit so you can control the air. It was freezing this weekend and we were not able to get the fireplace to work despite turning the pilot light knob to on and switch on the wall. We ended up leaving a day early because of the cold and my allergies/asthma was so bad I couldn’t breathe the two days we were there. ##### Jessica B. The air conditioner is very loud in the downstairs apartment but once we cleared the pipe in the water of debris it became a bit better. That would be the only complaint ##### patrick a. Mermaid Landing definitely gives summer-river-camp-not-a-care-in-the-world vibes and has a GREAT location in proximity to the Weeki Wachee River. My teens and younger kids stayed there recently for 2 nights. The property has kayaks and a pedal boat and a great covered dock you can sit and watch the kids and manatees from. We paddled up the weeki from there a bunch of times during our short stay. This canal lets right out into the super clear part of the river (maybe a 60 yard paddle at the most!).Inside the property is so so cute - mermaid decorations everywhere - and super clean. There is a surprising amount of space in the kitchen and dining area. My kids said the pullout sofa bed was comfy. And the bathroom was clean and well stocked. Yes - you do share the property with the guests upstairs. It truly wasn’t a problem for us (one time there wasn’t enough kayak paddles and sharing the laundry was a little difficult, but no complaints). Our housemates were friendly and quiet. Checkin process was easy (read those directions as there are two doors with codes). The kitchen is well stocked and with enough space to make a meal and eat it. There’s a screened back patio with a table and chairs that was great for lunch. And again, that backyard! Swoooooon. I got up every morning and had my coffee on the pretty Adirondack chairs on the covered dock. So quiet and peaceful.
