"This is a very basic, standard Dominican resort. The food is adequate—nothing special, but you’ll find something to eat. The rooms are simple, clean, and include the essentials plus a minibar, but don’t expect anything luxurious. There is no bell service, so be prepared to carry your own luggage. The pools are nice and enjoyable. The beach is decent, but there are no umbrellas—only palm trees for shade. This may be fine for some, but not ideal for fair-skinned guests who need more consistent sun protection. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly place to relax, swim, and enjoy the weather, this resort does the job. However, if you expect upscale amenities or gourmet dining, this is not the right choice. Major concern – safety: One night, the fire alarm went off at 4:20 AM. There were no staff in the hallways directing guests, and many people stayed in their rooms unsure of what to do. When we reached the lobby, there was no one at the front desk. Eventually, a staff member arrived, gave an explanation in Spanish, and simply said “everything’s fine” when asked to explain in English. Thankfully, it was a false alarm, but in a real emergency, the lack of staff presence and communication could have led to a catastrophic outcome in a real fire. This is a serious issue that needs improvement. Overall, an okay stay, but the safety concern cannot be overlooked."

"Me and my husband enjoyed our stay. Entertainment did lack a lot but it was very beautiful and relaxing staff was great our room was great right in front of the beach. The beach was the best part of our trip. "

"The staff was AMAZING! Wilber our butler and Peter from the fungestic crew were our favorites! Food and drinks were great! All the activities were fun and beach was beautiful! We will definitely be back!"

"The experience at the resort was good except for one incident. When we arrived to the reception desk, one of the receptionists took us aside and said that our room was not ready and we needed to wait an hour, even though it was supposed to be ready at the time we arrived there which was 15:00. They then said that if we wanted the room prepared faster we could give a monetary "tip." We declined this attempt. Other than that, the beach, services, amenities, and everything else exceeded our expectations. "

"I was not impressed with the room cleanliness. When we arrived I had to call the cleaning ladies to come clean the shower that looked like it wasn't clean, the pillow cases on the single bed were dirty and must have not been changed and my daughter noticed on the fan some brown spots which i thought was paint chipped but instead the lady took her broom with a cloth to wipe to see that it was a thick layer of dust and looks like it was never cleaned. There were other spots that needed attention but I didn't want to point out everything. Clearly they don't deep clean their rooms and was disappointed especially for a Royalton that is supposed to be reputable."

"One, you can’t go eat at another palace. The only one you can is bambu. For the first time I saw roaches in my room and in the elevator. I had to leave my luggage outside my house when I arrived so I wouldn’t bring anything inside my home. The food was terrible!!!!! And the staff, horrible!!!!! I have NEVER stayed is a Riu where I had horrible experience. Time to look for another all inclusive resort for me, for sure! "
