While Wakkanai was just a getaway to the island of Rishiri and Rebun I had a very pleasant stay here. It is quiet and clean with the freshest air! While there isn't much other than a fishing industry here it is here I realized that Japanese had it good as a citizen more than any other parts of the world. We know there are inequalities as a citizen in most part of the world in that the richer cities or sectors of a country will have it better than others in term of basic infrastructure and communal facilities. Not so much in Japan though, even the most remote places its citizen enjoys the same basic services as other parts of the country. That's quite a feat as far as I am concerned.
