Irenic lodge is situated by a very busy road and beside a secondary school, which is not mentioned in the property information, so when the children are starting and finishing school it makes getting in and out of the drive to the lodges extremely challenging as the children are everywhere and do not care when there is a car trying to get into the driveway. The lodges are set behind the owners house and once inside the property it was very peaceful. The lodges are ideally situated for exploring the New Forest, Southampton, the Isle of Wight and the surrounding towns and local attractions. The owner, Mike, was very friendly and welcoming and on hand if any issues arose. The property is deceptively spacious and has a good sized enclosed back garden, perfect for dogs to roam free. The property was not cleaned to a very high standard, as there are cobwebs everywhere, more spiders than we’ve ever seen and there were sweet wrappers on the bedroom floor! Other than that, the property was lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, and would definitely recommend staying here if you want to be close to both cities and the countryside
