"A great old pub with rooms in the heart of the charming village of Lindfield. About a 10 minute drive by taxi or bus from Haywards Heath station. We had dinner at the pub the first night and it was excellent and good value for money we thought. We stayed two nights and a good breakfast was included the next morning. All though the pub looks like you would expect an old worldy English village pub to look like the rooms upstairs are pretty basic in contrast. You have everything you need for a night's stay but the rooms/bathrooms could use an upgrade. It would be great if they could look and feel a bit more like the rest of the pub. Due to the buildings age not an easy thing to do but it would definitely bring more to the experience. The staff were great. All super friendly and willing to help when they can. Couldn't have asked for more really. "

"Wonderful stay with friendly and helpful Lyndsey. Easy to find, safe on site parking, slightly tricky to exit, maybe a trim of the clematis might help :- Super family room, very clean carpet, felt like new. Sofa to allow tv watching which is great. Plenty of mugs, tea, coffee all high quality items. Fridge and microwave in our room. Bed comfortable with cared for and clean linens. Breakfast superb - choices of cereals, fruit juices, yoghurt, fruit, cooked breakfast - all excellent quality and cooked with care. I had mentioned that I’m dairy free and this was catered for. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the local area. Standen and Wakehurst should you enjoy history, gardening and nature. Highly recommend and we look forward to revisiting. "Smart clean single room. Comfy bed. Clean bathroom. Lovely cooked breakfast. Plenty of choice including full English, kippers, cereals, fruit etc. Plenty of free parking places on the premises. "

"Beautiful old cottage, amazing location with walks on the doorstep and within a short drive. Plenty of firewood and cookies and Prosecco on arrival. Low ceilings though, beware if you’re tall. "

"We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Chestnut Tree. Lisa, the host was the main reason, she is a great communicator which is important when booking. She was so very helpful with local information and incredibly kind. Our room was beautiful and the amenities in the bathroom delightful. The area is beautiful but with only one night, we didn’t get the change to do much exploring. Next time. Thank you Lisa for a wonderful stay."

"The property was exactly as described. We wanted a holiday deep in the countryside with lots of gardens and National Trust properties to visit. The WiFi was fine in the house but a bit iffy in the area. Not the hosts fault!My only criticism would be that the mattress was a bit too soft for my comfort and that the kitchen could do with more implements. "
