We spent a two-day layover here on the way to New Zealand, and without ever leaving the property, we felt like we had a lovely little Tahitian getaway! The “Lagoonarium” — a mini-lagoon with exotic fishes you could swim with! — was a childhood dream come true! I always wanted to jump into the fish ponds at resorts, and I was able to do that in this gorgeous pool with friendly fishes! They also have a sea turtle rescue program there, which was fascinating and moving. We took a scuba diving trip right from the property a few hours after arriving, and saw many fish, stingrays, eagle rays, a plane wreck and a boat wreck in the crystal-clear waters. What a low-effort way to have a spectacular experience! The food at The Lotus Restaurant was transcendent! Staff were friendly, professional, and attentive. I will recommend this hotel to everyone I know!
