Given that Smědčice is a small village, the best area to stay is within the village centre itself, particularly around the church and the main square.

This central part of Smědčice is the heart of the community. It's where you'll find the historic Church of St. James the Greater, which dates back centuries, and the local pub, often a social hub. The village layout is quite compact, making it easy to stroll around and take in the local architecture and rural setting.

For travellers seeking a quiet retreat, the village centre provides an excellent base. Its tranquil setting, surrounded by fields and forests, offers a peaceful escape from city life. You can enjoy walks in the countryside directly from your accommodation, making it ideal for those looking to unwind.

Couples looking for a romantic getaway will appreciate the relaxed pace and picturesque surroundings. The opportunity to enjoy local Czech hospitality, perhaps at a guesthouse offering regional cuisine, adds to the experience.

The best time to visit Smědčice is during the late spring (May-June) and early autumn (September-October) months.

During these periods, the weather is pleasantly mild, with comfortable temperatures ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the Plzeň Region. You'll find fewer tourists compared to the peak summer months, allowing for a more relaxed experience at local attractions like the nearby Kozel Chateau or during walks along the Úhlava River. The countryside is particularly picturesque, with spring blossoms or autumn colours enhancing the scenery.

Couples looking for a peaceful escape will appreciate the tranquil atmosphere and opportunities for scenic walks and outdoor activities without the summer crowds.
