Welcome to Sligo, which is in a very popular part of Ireland Northwest and Lakelands. Come and enjoy the magical natural environment in this region including beaches, coastal plains and forests.

Sligo is located 55 miles (89 kilometers) north of Galway and about 110 miles (177 kilometers) northwest of Dublin, Ireland's capital.

While it may be a temptation to just kick back and relax when visiting Sligo, keep in mind that the surrounding region's treasure-trove of scenic wonders are never more than a day trip away. While in the district, make the effort to get to Tobbercurry. It is 9 miles (14 kilometers) away from Sligo and is home to the Tubbercurry Golf Club and Achonry Monastery. Boyle is yet another spot worth investigating. It is where you'll find the Boyle Abbey and King House. Boyle is 18 miles (29 kilometers) from Sligo.

Organise transportation and visit Sligo, a regional center, some 10 miles (16 kilometers) away from Sligo. The place has a range of attractions, for example Strandhill Beach, Inishmurray and Tobernalt Holy Well. Sligo has much of interest for visitors keen to linger. OConnell Street, Knocknarea and Drumcliffe Church are just some of the attractions you won't want to miss.

No matter how far you have come and however long you stay, memories of Ireland Northwest and Lakelands will remain with you for a long time.

Good but misleading info
"Very pleasant stay. Only disappointment was due to misinformation on the part of hotels.com. Room was listed as a king but was actually just a five foot bed which would make it a US queen but an Irish double king. This was misleading as we booked on US site. Also the free overflow car park is no ..."

"We really enjoyed staying here. During our 2 weeks stay the service was excellent, food great and the staff were exceptionally helpful. The spa is one of the best! I’d suggest that while our linen was changed regularly, we had to ask for our room to be cleaned - it wasn’t cleaned routinely. But we ..."
