Skitača is a small, elevated village known for its peaceful setting and panoramic views of the Kvarner Bay and the surrounding islands. It's truly a place to unwind, with the main "attraction" being the stunning natural beauty and quietude. You'll find a few local guesthouses and holiday homes scattered around the village's modest collection of houses.

For couples looking for a romantic and secluded getaway, Skitača is perfect. You can enjoy long walks along the marked trails, like the one leading to the peak of Brdo, offering incredible sunrise and sunset views. The emphasis here is on relaxation, enjoying local produce, and simply being together in a beautiful, unspoilt environment.

Families with older children who appreciate nature and quiet activities will also find Skitača appealing. There's plenty of space for children to explore the outdoors, and the clear night skies are fantastic for stargazing.

The best time to go to Skitača is during the late spring (May and early June) and early autumn (September and early October) when the weather is pleasant for outdoor activities and the crowds are thinner.

During late spring, the landscape is lush and green, and the temperatures are mild, typically ranging from 18°C to 25°C. This period is ideal for hiking and exploring the natural beauty of the area without the intense summer heat. You'll find fewer tourists, allowing for a more peaceful experience at attractions and restaurants.

Early autumn also offers comfortable temperatures, usually between 15°C and 22°C, and the sea is still warm enough for swimming until mid-October. This season is superb for couples looking for a romantic getaway, as the vineyards begin to change colour, and many local festivals celebrating the grape harvest or olive oil production take place, offering a taste of Istrian culture.
