Unique place! The room, breakfast and service were all great. The only thing they need to change is recommending their sister hotel (for dinner) which is at St David’s and 10 miles away . Far better options in Solva

I’m always a tad concerned when others call a hotel quirky (what’s one person’s quirky is another person’s odd) but this word is very spy in a very positive way. I’ve never known such a relaxed hotel; the staff (with absolutely no exceptions) went out of their way to engage, chat, explain, facilitate… anything you could want. Early morning coffee I could take on a walk, move cars so mine could charge up, move tables so I could get a great view ( their idea not mine). As a woman travelling on her...

We had a tidy, clean smelling, big enough room for a couple and a beautiful bathroom. Our stay was so calming as we didn’t have to worry about a thing as staff were so nice and welcoming. The breakfast was yummy and couldn’t get enough of it. Would recommend this place! It’s close to local amenities, and takeaways are near too if you don’t know what or where to eat.

Stayed for two nights and I wouldn’t go to any other hotel if I’m down that way again! Staff are friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. Food was brilliant with a good range for vegetarians (not that I had any vegetarian option) and the breakfast certainly filled a hole in the morning.

We really enjoyed our stay. The local town of Narberth is very quaint with plenty of places to eat and unique shopping. Tenby is close by and we used it as a base for a visit to Skomer Island. It seems there are load of local attractions although we only stayed for a few days so didn't get a chance to appraise these. The staff at Canaston are wonderful and the service was excellent.

Staff was lovely. We ate the restaurant one evening and the food was amazing. It's not too expensive compared to the other popular restaurant in the area. Breakfast was excellent and lots of choice, including full Welsh. Art around the hotel is beautiful but expensive (to be expected, I suppose). In the area, there is a choice of coastal walk with amazing views. Ramsey island landing and around the island boat trip is another must in the area.

It is always lovely when I stay here! I find it very hard nowadays to find a clean hotel but Slebech is always clean and comfortable and I never have any problems. Breakfast was also lovely and the staff are very accommodating!

It was quiet, despite being in the centre of things. Food was excellent- breakfast amazing - fresh cooked, excellent veggie sausages. Really liked the fact that you could pick up extra toilet rolls from the shelf or milk from the fridge if you were running low before housekeeping came round. Also oat milk sachets and vegan options on all menus. Staff also v friendly and went above and beyond. Will definitely be back

The food was amazing. The grounds are lovely and the staff are warm and welcoming. The accomodation was fantastic,l. We had the Sorrel junior suite which is ideal for a couple with a dog. Private garden and lounge area and bedroom area mean sleeping without the dog in the same room is a nice treat

The best area to stay in Simpson Cross is within the village itself or in the immediately surrounding countryside, particularly for those seeking a tranquil base to explore Pembrokeshire.
Simpson Cross is a small, quiet village, making it an excellent base for a relaxing holiday. It's surrounded by scenic rural landscapes, offering a true taste of the Welsh countryside. The village has a local pub and is well-connected by road to the wider Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
Couples looking for a peaceful retreat will find the village's setting ideal. Many accommodations here are converted farmhouses or charming cottages, offering privacy and a chance to unwind. It's a great spot for enjoying country walks right from your doorstep, and you're only a short drive from the stunning Pembrokeshire coastline for romantic seaside strolls.
Families will also appreciate the calm environment of Simpson Cross. Being centrally located within Pembrokeshire means you're never too far from popular attractions such as Oakwood Theme Park, Folly Farm Adventure Park, and the numerous sandy beaches like Broad Haven and Little Haven, which are superb for a day out with children.
When is the best time to go to Simpson Cross?
The best time to visit Simpson Cross is typically during the summer months, from June to August, when the weather is at its warmest and most consistent, though the shoulder seasons of May and September also offer lovely conditions.
For families, the summer holidays are ideal. The longer daylight hours mean more time to enjoy the nearby Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and its many beaches, such as Newgale Sands, which is great for building sandcastles and trying out watersports. Many local attractions also extend their opening hours during this peak season.
Couples looking for a peaceful escape might prefer May or September. The weather is still pleasant, but the crowds are smaller, allowing for more serene walks along the coastal paths and quieter dining experiences in the local pubs.
