The room is inside an old cottage. The bathroom downstairs has no cover on its small window - which could have been replaced with stained glass or even stickers easily for more privacy. Lots of crackling sound when walking on upper floor, which is normal for this type of property. Bright sides: Clean room. Excellent breakfast and super friendly staff. Free parking. Nice nature around the area.

Romantic and cozy place

Romantic and cozy farm surrounded by beautiful nature. Super sweet and helpful staff, and everything from the rooms to the inn was done in style. Like being taken back in time. The breakfast was also super delicious.

This is very nice for an older property. The breakfast was awesome as was their service while we were there. The room was kind of small but that was to be expected. We would stay there again. Beautiful area to sit and enjoy the river behind the hotel.

A very peaceful stay with good food

Wasn't the first time I stayed here and will not be my last. Very nice building, in a very tranquil setting. Had a lovely lunch (fish) and a nice diner (meat) with some excellent Portuguese wine. Breakfast starts only at 8 am which could be an issue for some.

We had a wonderful stay at this charming traditional Danish inn. The atmosphere was warm and authentic, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Our room was comfortable, clean, and full of character. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always happy to help. The breakfast was excellent, with a great selection of fresh, local products. We truly enjoyed our stay and would gladly return. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a genuine Danish inn experience.

We had a wonderful dinner and huge breakfast here and enjoyed staying overnight. It made the perfect stop for us between Copenhagen and Aarhus. We found it very quaint and authentic but also comfortable and clean. A special place to visit.

We felt like being treated like king and queens. Rooms were great at this historic place in the county side. Food very yummy especially breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful. Thank you for a couple of great days at Svostrup Kro.

Good for business, less for breakfast

It wasn't the first time I stayed here and probably will not be my last. The area is very nice, especially with nice weather with a large outdoor section to sit, relax and or have lunch/dinner. The only inconvenience for a business traveler is that they only start serving breakfast at 8 o'clock which caused me not to use it on this occasion since my meeting started at 8 am.

Kommer igen og igen tilbage til denne charmerende kro. Hver gang jeg er dér ville jeg ønske, at jeg havde booket et døgn mere. Så kan anbefale at booke et par nætter. Maden er god og rigelig, og morgenmaden er charmerende anrettet i portioner. Omgivelserne lægger op til en god gåtur langs Gudenå.

Desværre en meget blandet oplevelse. Værelset var rigtig fint og pænt rengjort, og både morgenmaden og personalet om morgenen var gode, venlige og imødekommende. Oplevelsen i restauranten om aftenen var derimod meget skuffende. Der gik lang tid, før vi kunne bestille, og personalet virkede surt og uvenligt. Bestikbakken blev nærmest kastet ned på bordet. Vi havde aftalt at få pommes frites i stedet for kartofler, men de manglede, da hovedretten blev serveret. Da de endelig kom, havde vi allerede spist hovedretten og sad tilbage med kold sauce og pommes frites. Vi modtog hverken en undskyldning eller en beklagelse. Indtjekningen var heller ikke særlig professionel. Medarbejderen kommenterede, at han håbede, vi kunne lide at ligge tæt, fordi vi havde bestilt en queensize-seng. Det oplevede vi som en meget upassende kommentar. Det positive værelse og den gode morgenmad kunne desværre ikke opveje den dårlige behandling ved indtjekningen og i restauranten.
