The water has great importance in Silkeborg and many activities are therefore water-related. You can walk to water from almost anywhere in the town, but you can also sail to many of the attractions.

If you are only in Silkeborg for the weekend you should find time to enjoy the many shops and restaurants. The town has plenty of speciality shops and you can find restaurants to cater to all tastes. You can easily get to Silkeborg via the motorway, if you are coming from the east or west and it is approximately a 1-hour drive from Billund Airport. There are also good train connections to the town.
