Property restoration from Hurricane Helene has been mostly completed but there may be some ongoing construction and other inconveniences depending on the period of your stay. Access to the beach is at the north end of the property at Turtle Beach. Fisherman's Cove is a very rare Siesta Key condo where every unit has direct, unobstructed, full Gulf views. The building is one of the closest condos to the Gulf on all of Siesta Key. You could throw a tennis ball into the gulf from this Siesta Key beachfront condo! Located at Turtle Beach on the island of Siesta Key off Sarasota, Florida, this vacation home has the best of both worlds - the beach in front and boat docks with access to the Intracoastal Waterway in back. Fisherman's Cove is practically surrounded by water! While not as powdery white as Crescent (Siesta) Beach, it is less crowded and great for collecting shells. NOTE: Because of minimal beach directly in front, access to the beach is at the north end of the property at Turtle Beach. This rare 3-bedroom unit is on the third floor, accessible using the elevator or outside stairwell. This unit has been updated. Flooring is a mixture of modern tile, wood (parquet) in the living spaces and carpet in the bedrooms. The kitchen has solid-surface material countertops with tile backsplash, and modern appliances including refrigerator with through the door ice/water, glass top range and oven, dishwasher and microwave. The kitchen is fully equipped including a range of small appliances. The dining area has seating for six and is located right off the kitchen. The living room is well appointed with leather sectional, accent chair, large flat panel HDTV and an amazing view out to the lanai and the Gulf. The air-conditioned lanai has floor to ceiling glass sliders overlooking the Gulf of Mexico and the beach below. The lanai is furnished with a love seat and 4-person table to let you get comfortable as close to the water as possible. Sleep at night with the ocean surf right outside your window! The master bedroom has a bay window overlooking the Gulf and beach below. It has a king-size bed, large HDTV, walk-in closet, and en suite - recently updated - bathroom with a large tiled shower. The second bedroom has a king-size bed, and the third bedroom has two twin trundle beds (4 twins). The second and third bedrooms have flat panel HDTVs, and each have a large window overlooking the bay and boat docks. These bedrooms share a recently updated full bath with tiled tub/shower combo. This unit has its own dedicated high-speed broadband WIFI. This unit also comes equipped with a full size washer/dryer. Boat docks are available for guest use at no extra charge!! Bring your boat or rent one after you get here. Keep it right at the condo all week long. (Note; trailers cannot be stored on site) Fisherman's Cove is located less than 25 minutes from Sarasota airport, 90 minutes from Tampa, and two and a half hours from Orlando. Tons of great restaurants and golf courses are nearby. Fisherman's Cove is on the southern end of Siesta Key at Turtle Beach and is very quiet and un-crowded. The view is to the west for spectacular sunsets! It's not unusual to be able to watch dolphins swim by in the Gulf from the lanai / patio. Views from the screened balcony and main bedroom are spectacular. Beach is small and not the white sand beach of Crescent Beach but it’s quiet and private. The unit also had a washer and dryer along with beach chairs & beach towels for our use. The kitchen had plenty of plates, silverware and glasses. Could have used a a 9x13 pan for the oven. We so enjoyed listening to the sea roar, as property is about 30 yards from the beach! We really relaxed & enjoyed our stay. The best part about being on Turtle Beach was that the sea turtles came in the night and made nests of turtle eggs. When we left there were 7 nests. Our unit was very nice and clean. The view from the 3rd floor was spectacular. The beach is small in this section, but it had plenty of room for all of the beachgoers from the condo property. Quieter part of south Siesta Key, but the beach is nice and long still. Warm water Turtles restaurant is an 8 minute walk and Ophelia’s ($$$) is 15 min, otherwise you will be driving for food. We had the beach right outside our lanai and the bay outside our front door. The only down-side was the beach…dark sand, not the pretty white sand Siesa Key is noted for. This unit was just perfect. All questions and concerns were answered in a timely manner. My husband and son enjoyed fishing in the Bay Area and My grandson, DIL, and I loved the ocean side. Not the pure white sand of Crescent Beach, but the kid’s loved it and it was great because it wasn’t as crowded. The unit was well equipped and had a great view of the beach. However there were problems with property management. The floors had not been washed which then of course makes me skeptical of everything else so I had to clean everything. Fortunately I had a big supply of disinfectant wipes. Vacuum cleaner had a bag so overstuffed with dirt it couldn’t be used. I didn’t find the housekeeping number until I had to find a contact for maintenance because the dishwasher wasn’t working. Too late for cleaning at that point and never heard back regarding dishwasher repair. Dishwasher is an important item for us when we are in vacation mode so we were unhappy about that as wellI. We were also unhappy with the 3% surcharge they tacked onto our bill for use of a credit card (no other option when you only book 90 days in advance). Normally we have been satisfied with VRBO disclosure of all the tacked on fees, but not this time. The checkout procedures they sent did not work so I went to the on-site office, but was told that they didn’t have anything to do with Sunnyside Properties so they couldn’t help us.
