The staff were super friendly when u stayed there. When I asked to leave my luggage before checking in they said yes and actually took it to my room so that hotel was awesome for that. Plus right in front there’s an awesome ramen restaurant that serves the best ramen in my opinion with super friendly staff. 10/10 recommend, and the hotel is near a lot of shopping areas.

Very good area for going out lots of good food spots, hotel itself was good, the room was quite small but it was cheap so can’t complain. Staff were very nice and there were lots of freebies available.

Great spot. Great staff. Great area for a Friday night. Really wanted 2 more days there, but had to move on. Shizuoka is a total gem and I loved it WAY more than I thought I would.

I recently stayed at Shizuoka Town Hotel for about a week in July-August 2026. Though I was satisfied with my stay, there were some minor drawbacks that affected my experience. The reception and housekeeping staff team were generally professional and welcoming, and kept my room, the lobby, and the breakfast area in a clean, uncluttered state. The signage and instructions on check-in/check-out and amenities were also easy to understand. The provided daily breakfast is basic, but works well for the price. The location has ready access to JR Shizuoka and Shin-Shizuoka station via a nearby underground walkway, which I appreciated. It is also close to the historic Sumpu Castle, which is an important local landmark for sightseeing. However, the nightlife-heavy neighbourhood is a downside for me, which I should have looked up on Street View before deciding to book. For those like me who are not interested in nightlife, there are other comparable hotels closer to JR Shizuoka or Shin-Shinzuoka station that may be a better fit. Overally, this is a decent hotel for the price. I would recommend it for a budget solo traveller considering a stay in central Shizuoka with easy access to JR and local rail transport.

The complimentary breakfast was a nice add-on. The fact that I gave up my luggage way before my check-in time and when I arrived again to bring it up to the room, they already brought it up. Good english communication compared to other hotels in japan.
