With new COVID-19 safety measures in effect, travel looks a lot different at the moment. Here's what you need to know before you fly off to Shimojishima:

• Find out what, if any, rules or restrictions apply to both your destination and origin. It may not be possible to travel depending on local circumstances, so be sure to check before you lock something in.
• Requirements state that you must wear a face mask throughout your travel experience, including at screening checkpoints. Be prepared to adjust your mask for ID verification when asked by a TSA officer.

• Empty your personal items from your pockets, such as your wallet, keys and phone, and place them in your carry-on instead of into bins. This will minimize handling during screening.
• Separate any food you're carrying for X-ray scanning. Putting it in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA officer to touch and inspect your belongings.
