Unfortunately, the reality was completely different. The building is in deplorable condition, with very dirty windows throughout the lobby, which creates a terrible first impression. On top of that, we waited 30 minutes at reception before anyone showed up to check us in. The elevator carpets are the dirtiest I’ve ever seen, and the pool is not on-site — you have to walk 700 meters to another hotel under unbearable heat and humidity. Therefore, they did offer us free access to the pool of the nicer facility and free parking at a great snorkeling beach. They did not prepare enough towels or sheets, and there was only a worker on call since it was after 8pm, so I didn’t bother with asking that night but they were happy to give us extra the next day. The fridge wasn’t very cold but the view on the balcony was nice. It was adequate for our family of four. The hotel does not have a pool but you have access to the pool of nearby hotels. Room layout was a little different with a top level that didn’t provide much use. We did enjoy the tatami sleeping. A few things that would really improve the accommodation: fly screens for the balcony. It was such a shame that we couldn’t have the doors open, especially when the climate outside was so pleasant. It would have been nice to hear the ocean at night, instead we had the doors shut and the aircon on. And bigger cups!!
