The town has museum and an old Abbey garden so plenty to see and do. There is no need for car, but if you have one we are so close to the jurassic coastline with all the beaches/walks and places of interest to visit there. This was our fourth stay at the cottage and the one thing I can say that we really like is consistency. It is always clean, welcoming and a bit of an oasis in the centre of Shaftesbury. We had a rental car and use of a parking space cannot be overstated in the town. The cottage is cozy and everything works! Its location is also great for the various restaurants and walks around town.There are a couple of new eateries that we tried since our last visit in November 2023\. The Kings Arms has opened as a gastro pub and was very good. Although around for many years, we also had a very enjoyable meal with friends at the Italian San Tonino, especially interesting if you like going through a graveyard to get to a restaurant! We also visit Aroma at least once every trip.Thanks for Nicky for her hospitality and we are already looking forward to our next visit, hopefully in 2026\. ##### Chris T.
