Here was the Las Mulas Pier, from which the Magallanes-Elcano expedition departed in 1519 returning to Seville in 1522 after completing the 1st World Tour. In 1526 a hermitage was founded in the area with an image of the Virgin of the Remedies.​ And on this, in 1575, the convent of the Remedies of the Order of the Discalced Carmelites would be erected. A whole world to explore !
