The Marina barrage is also an example of Singapore’s rapid adaption of greener alternatives. There is a solar park at the base of this barrage that has 400 solar panels installed that supply continuous power that is required to light the entire barrage during the day. From the Marina barrage bridge you get to see amazing twinkling of stars at night. Housed in the school of Tao-Nan, it was open to the people in 2008. It is the perfect place where you will be sync with Singapore’s vibrant history. If you are looking forward to know more of the Peranakan this place should be a must visit and on top of your bucket list as it houses some of the finest jewellery, furniture and different kinds of textiles that have been showcased in different galleries over the three floors of the building.
