RENTERS BEWARE!! We booked and paid for this house and did not get it. It was substituted last minute for a house that was a very bad substitute. We didn't find out until we were ready to check in and desperate for a place to stay. We were told we could have the house we booked the next day, but we went to the house and found other renters already there and they were not leaving. AND, we have not been offered any kind of refund. The house we agreed to stay in was listed on VRBO at about half the price of the one we booked. It was a much lower standard than our original booking. We caught the host lying about several major things. SHE TOLD US:We couldn’t check-in to this house because it wasn’t ready and she didn’t have time to get a crew to get it ready. (Fact: house was already rented and occupied)We could have the house the next day if we would like to do that. (Fact: other people were already in the house when we went there and were not leaving)We could have another house that would be equal to the one we originally booked, confirmed, and paid for. (Fact: the house was a much lower standard, the house was not clean, the heating didn’t work, farther away from original area, rock hard beds, fewer beds than promised. Maintenance was at the house several hours the first night trying to fix the heating)The host said she would get back to us, offered us a 10% refund, but then stopped all communication. No refund or communication.
