Construction was interrupted by the American Civil War, and finally completed around 1868 by the new owner, John Wilder. Great place to stay

Wonderful place in historic Savannah. Walking distance to Forsyth Park. Loved having the dedicated parking out back, along with the cute little courtyard in the backyard.

Changing Dates for the Vacation

Although we were initially scheduled to visit Savannah earlier this fall, inclimate weather made that impossible. The competent staff at Lucky Savannah was able to move our stay to December at no additional cost. This in turn allowed us to enjoy a memorable getaway.

Furnishing are comfortable and clean. Only issue is the lack of light. Other than the bedroom, there is no sunlight to speak of, and the lamps, though many, are dim. Lighter lamp shades and brighter bulbs in the main living area would be welcome.

The location was nice, we enjoyed the city and surrounding area. The antuque furniture was charming, however, the floors in the apt. we're dirty, and the couch and bed mattress need to be replaced, they are uncomfortable.

We will continue to try to stay at this property. I will say that for the $135 cleaning fee, that it wasn't truly clean. Dust on floors and surfaces and bathroom garbage wasn't emptied from previous guests. But overall enjoyed our stay.we took in a game of hockey and saw the ghost pirates.

First time to Savannah

For a property built in the 1870's the building was in good condition and was in a great location to many historical things to see in Savannah. The apartment had many beautiful furnishings. Having a washer and dryer were very convenient. But, there are things that need to be improved on to make it a viable rental. *There was a very musty smell most of the time. Updating the ventilation and adding air purifiers would possibly help the musty odor. *The property could use a really thorough cleaning. *A new couch, living room chair and mattress are needed. * The plants in the courtyard need to be cleaned out. Everything was so over grown. The grill there was totally not useable. There were steps leading out to the parking spot that were so awkward....a handrail needs to be installed. Someone could fall. We had a problem getting in initially, but the property manager was quick to help with that issue. Savannah is a beautiful city to visit, but we won't be staying at this property.

Beautiful Savannah….!

The location of this property was perfect. Great instructions to find and access the unit. We could walk to many “must see” attractions, parks, restaurants. The free “DOT” transportation was so close and easy to take. The property itself was wonderful for the most part. Comfortable bed. Spacious unit. Your own parking space. Washer and dryer. Adequate kitchen…I did not cook…I was on vacation…lol! The unit could use a good deep clean. Tiles…furniture. Musty smelling. Once you were inside for awhile, you got used to it. Not sure what that was from. Age of building? Moisture? Not sure. The courtyard was unusable. A little disappointing. Overgrown and you could not help but track vegetation in to the property….right into the bedroom. That sucked. A good pressure wash and trimming of vegetation would be a game changer. I think these things could be easily be fixed. Would I stay again? Absolutely. 100%!!! Just a few tweaks and it would be grand!! Thanks for having us! I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This rental is in the perfect location for walking to all fun things in historic Savannah. Parking being included was a major plus. However, I'm shocked there have been no reviews concerning the noise level from the unit above. We could hear every footstep, voice, chair moved and closet opened. It was so loud we were either kept awake or woken up by the noise every day of our 5 night stay. After the first night, I called to see if it was possible to be moved to a different rental. The property management contact said no one has ever mentioned the noise before, as if I were lying. So I emailed her 2 audio recordings I took the night before as proof of what kept us awake. Unfortunately no other properties were available for us to move. If you are BOTH a late night owl and extremely early riser, you should have no issues...just beware. The shower and all floors needed cleaning, couch and mattress are uncomfortable and need to be replaced and the outdoor garden area was not maintained to be able to sit outside. The exceptional location and free parking spot are not enough for us to return to this unit.

CONDO ON A SQUARE

Reviewer Comments: We loved the pleasure of being resident on Chatham Square. to be able to open the front door with views of the peaceful square and the many people who spent time there. It also provided easy walking to much of the Historic District. This condo is a home, where we were able to enjoy the comfortable courtyard garden at the back as well as the less private public square in is in the basement/lower level of the house, so the only negative was the darkness, requiring lights on during the day, and the floors are old and seem grubby, though they were not. The bed was very comfortable, and kitchen offered all requirements for a comfortable stay.
