"Beautiful property, we traveled with family and our puppy who enjoyed running in the garden. Me and my partner stayed in the Exclusive Cabin with a queen bed, our only problem with it was the accesible open shower as it flooded the bathroom every time we used it. Room very clean, linen smelled great and there’s daily housekeeping. Having air conditioning was the greatest thing for the heatwave We went to the Brasserie for dinner. Absolutely delicious local wine, food unfortunately was very...

HOTEL DE FRANCE ET DE GUISE

8/10 Good

"The breakfast seemed overpriced for what there was (no eggs). The high ceilings were the best part. Our room faced the church and there was a lot of yelling and noise from the park outside. The other side might be a better pick. It was reasonably close to the train station and a bus stop to go to Chambord. I will stay here next time, maybe not getting the breakfast."

Les Sources de Cheverny

10/10 Excellent

"5 stars for Les Sources 0 stars for Hotels.com We booked a “Junior Suite” based on the Hotels.com description specifically stating the Junior Suites had a “separate sitting area” with photos showing a separated area with a small sofa and that looked perfect for us traveling with our four-year old so he’d have a bit of his own space for sleeping but still be close by to us. When we arrived and checked into our room, it was a beautiful room but a normal hotel room shape with no separation at all. My husband asked at the hotel showing them the booking description and they said no Junior Suites had separate areas and only full Suites did and they didn’t know why the Hotels.com site reflected an inaccurate and misleading booking option - they were incredibly kind and offered two connecting rooms but that wasn’t doable putting a toddler in a room by himself so we stayed with the room we had. I contacted Hotels.com customer service showing the misleading sale they’d made and asked them to update their post for accuracy and asked for a fair rate adjustment (not a refund as we kept a room). They would not update their inaccurate post and said they could not give a rate adjustment because of the hotel wouldn’t agree to it - my ask was to Hotels.com because they owned the false advertising not the hotel. In short - LOVED Les Sources and am extremely disappointed in Hotels.com after being a customer for years and can no longer trust any room offering of theirs."

You'll find a few local amenities and the majority of the village's historic buildings concentrated here, making it easy to walk around and appreciate the local charm. The streets are generally quiet and well-maintained.

Couples looking for a tranquil escape will find the village centre ideal. It offers a relaxed pace of life, with opportunities for gentle strolls through the village and enjoying local produce. The proximity to rural walking paths and the peaceful surroundings make it great for a restful holiday.

For families, staying within the village centre provides easy access to any local shops for essentials and a central point for day trips to the surrounding Loire Valley châteaux.

When is the best time to go to Sassay?

The best time to visit Sassay is during the late spring and early autumn months, specifically from May to June and September to October.
