One minutes walk to one of the photo spots in Oia. Restaurants, bars, and shops are near by but very quiet after 10pm. Yannis was very kind, professional and easy to reach. The view from the decks is spectacular and you are literally a 30 second walk from the famed sunset strip. Yiannis was a "herculean" host able to carry our luggage through the maze of walkways to get to the hotel. I could easily have stayed there longer. Quite an amazing spot. The location is perfect, 1 minute walk away from the best spot to see the sunset. The view from the terrace and from the hot tub of the caldera takes your breath away every time you look at it. Inside the house, it was plenty big enough for the five of us, beautifully decorated, cosy and clean. The maid came every day to change the towels. Finally, Yannis was the perfect host. He met us on arrival, carried all of our luggage from the car to the house, went out of his way to make us feel welcome and offered his help whenever we needed it. Great location, amazing view, comfy beds. However we arrived to multiple problems including dirty/used sheets (basic of all basics), fuse problem, broken lamp that one of us got cut on, and a not fully functioning hot tub. However, when we let them know about these issues, the owner sent someone over with in minutes to fix things and had the maid come again too. It really was a great place but hard to look past those first experiences. I love the settings as the view was magnificent, and the decorations of the hotel. However, the kitchen and down stair bathroom could have a little facelift especially the area under the kitchen sink. One thing that I need to mention is the hotel staff are amazing! From booking to greeting to luggage porter (who came to help with our luggage at 4 am in the morning with a big smile), everyone went above and beyond to make sure you are well taken care of. Sofia took great care of us, this is a very large cave compared to many on this part of the island. The views from both decks are unbeatable. The cave is a traditional house that has been lovingly renovated to be a beautifully comfortable retreat right in the heart of Oia. The 'cave' has a unique feel that reinforces what a special island you are visiting. We spent most of our time on the houses entrance balcony with views over all the caldera. The location could not be beaten. The owner even helped with our bags as Oia is steep (all of Oia!). The kitchen is generously stocked with the basics. The hot tub with the caldera view was an unexpected bonus.
