"This is probably one of the best places I've ever stayed in my life. That's saying a lot as I stay in 3-5 places per month. Its one of the most beautiful and large properties I've ever seen in one of the most beautiful forest that exist. I felt like I had the whole place to myself. The cabin was immaculate and the vie w was incredible. It was just the river and birds all day and night. I can't recommend this place enough. It is in the middle of nowhere but there is a great restaurant nearby ."

Rodavento Valle de Bravo

10/10 Excellent

"Excellent!"

La Casa Rodavento - Adults Only

10/10 Excellent

"We had a wonderful three-night stay at La Casa Rodavento in Valle de Bravo. The place is nice and spotlessly clean, and the staff were all friendly and professional. Our room — Room 6 — was tastefully decorated, with plenty of huge bath towels, and we got a kick out of the easel they use as a TV mount. The location is perfect for an easy walk into the centro. The restaurant food was good, and a special thanks to Megan on the morning shift — just friendly enough, and efficient at everything. We would stay here again!"

Club de Vela Santa Maria

10/10 Excellent

"Este pintoresco hotel está ubicado a la orilla del lago y el servicio es increíble. A pesar de que las habitaciones con cama king no estaban disponibles por la reserva de última hora, disfrutamos muchísimo la estancia. No tuvimos chance de utilizar la chimenea pero la próxima vez es cierto. Gracias por todo."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Santo Tomás?

The best area to stay in Santo Tomás is the town centre, particularly around the main square, Plaza Central.

This area is the heart of Santo Tomás, offering a pleasant and easily walkable environment. You'll find the most prominent local businesses, eateries, and artisanal shops concentrated here, making it convenient for exploring. The beautiful San Miguel Arcángel Church is a central landmark, and the streets immediately surrounding the Plaza Central are where most of the activity happens.

Couples looking for a relaxing and authentic experience will find the town centre ideal. It provides easy access to local culture, with traditional markets and small, family-run restaurants superb for quiet evenings. The central location also makes it a great base for exploring the surrounding natural beauty, such as nearby hiking trails and viewpoints.

Families will also appreciate the convenience of staying in the town centre. With everything within a short stroll, it minimises travel time and maximises opportunities for shared experiences, from browsing local crafts to enjoying meals together.

When is the best time to go to Santo Tomás?

The best time to visit Santo Tomás is during the dry season, which runs from October to May, with November to February offering the most pleasant weather.

During these months, you'll experience clear skies and comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from 15°C to 25°C. This makes it ideal for exploring the town's historic sites and enjoying outdoor activities without the humidity or heavy rainfall of the wet season. The cooler, drier air is particularly welcome for those interested in hiking in the surrounding Sierra de Nanchititla Natural Park.

Couples looking for a relaxing getaway will appreciate the serene conditions in November and early December, before the peak holiday season. The mild weather provides a lovely backdrop for strolls through the town or enjoying a quiet meal on a terrace.

Families travelling with children might find January and February to be perfect, as the weather is consistently good for outdoor adventures and exploring the local markets.
