You will be just 10 miles from Santa Fe, a city rich in culture, history, fine dining and offers a traditional New Mexican experience. This amazing home sits on top of Canoncito Mountain with 270 degree panoramic views of over one hundred miles of the Galisteo Basin preserve and high mountain Sandia and Monzano ranges. The wrap around deck overlooks the historic Civil War battlegrounds of Apache Canyon and offers evening relaxation as you sip a glass of wine and watch the beautiful blue New Mexico skies and breath-taking sunsets. Strategically located, your party can venture north to the Pecos Wilderness which is an easy 30 minute drive or continue for another 30 minutes and tour historic Las Vegas, New Mexico. Established in 1835, Stephen W. Kearny delivered an address at the Plaza of Las Vegas claiming New Mexico for the United States during the Mexican-American War in 1846\. You can also head south to hike in the Tent Rock Area or travel up to Bandelier National Monument and visit the homes and territory of the Ancestral Puebloans of a later era in the Southwest. The front patio has a beautiful seating area surrounded by a 3-tiered garden, water fountain and natural vegetation including pinon, pine, aspen and cedar trees. The lower patio includes comfortable seating and a relaxing bubbling waterfall with views of the Glorietta baldy mountains. The deck offers a barbeque grill with patio dining table and other covered and open leisure seating to gaze upon the beautiful surroundings and spectacular views of the Sandia, Ortiz, Monzano and Sangre de Cristo mountain ranges. There is a great deck with an amazing view for enjoying coffee, meals, cocktails. This home and kitchen are incredibly well stocked with every spice, appliance, cooking tool needed. The home is comfortable, clean and well decorated. As others have mentioned, the road to the home is steep and narrow and partially paved. We greatly enjoyed all the options of indoor and outdoor, and the hospitality of the hosts. All was made available to us (though we accidentally dropped on large bowl that shattered. Karen was very gracious about it.). A note about steps: there are several ups and downs, between and within rooms, that can catch one unawares. Anyone with stability issues may struggle.Sunsets are spectacular from the deck, and sunrises from the top of the driveway. Communication, cleanliness, amenities were excellent. ##### Mary E. This place was amazing. Pictures don't do it justice. It's perched at the top of the hill with breathtaking Western and southern views. You can see the Sandia Mountains in the distance and at night when it's cloudy you can see the Albuquerque city lights reflected in the clouds. The home was gorgeous. The eastern side of the house has two gorgeous patios with picnic table, chaise lounges, water fountains, and shade. Perfect to use on warm sunny days when the deck is too hot. The space was perfect. Jacuzzi tub and bathroom with spectacular, gigantic walk in shower for two that was spiral-shaped. Everyone loved the place. the road up the hill is a dirt road and there are some fun hairpin turns. The views on the deck circling the property were incredible. However, our favorite place was sitting with the family in either of the two front yard gardens. in addition to beautiful flowers surrounding us, the owners had wonderful, wind chimes, and a flowing waterfall that was delightful. Yes, the road leading up to the house was driven carefully and slowly, however, the arrival at the house was well worth the climb. It was probably the most relaxing vacation. My wife and I have had in the last 50 years. The kitchen was as well appointed as mine in our home. The host had every conceivable spice and item. Anyone would want to prepare meals. My wife and daughter are both excellent cooks, and they were very happy with the kitchen and it’s accommodations finally, the setting sun going down between the two mountains and the view from the porch is absolutely incredible each night. It was a pleasure to meet them and they checked in with us via texts to be sure we had everything we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. We took advantage of the wonderful deck and fire-table in the evening-watching the amazing sunsets. We enjoyed the front patio in the mornings at breakfast. We also used the cozy kiva fireplace on one cool Fall day and evening. Everything was perfect. The kitchen was well supplied with utensils, pots, pans and dinnerware. We prepared several meals in the house. The house was immaculate and the SW decor was charming and comfortable. Quiet, peaceful. As was disclosed by the owners in the house description, there are a few steps and various levels inside and out to contend with so the house is not appropriate for children, or anyone with a disability. And the mountain road up to the house is not for the faint of heart-but the views from the top of the ridge were so worth it!!! We couldn't have had a nicer place to stay during our visit to the Santa Fe and Albuquerque area. ##### Thomas M. It is very well stocked with everything one may need. We especially enjoyed the three outdoor seating areas - a front patio, side patio and the large porch/balcony with fantastic views. The owners were very responsive. We accidentally damaged some of the property and they could not have been more understanding. The reason I gave "location" a 4 rather than 5 is due to the long, narrow, windy road that leads to the house.
