This 120-year-old adobe house has been completely updated but retains its charm, its terraced garden, and its hummingbirds! Spend family time outside on the gorgeous patios or warm up after a day of skiing by the wood-burning fireplace. Located within easy walking distance of the Plaza and Canyon Road, this splendid home has been fitted with all the modern conveniences from air-conditioning to WiFi and cable, yet it retains its unique design, natural materials, and sunny aspect. It's easy to imagine 19th-century life at Harmony House, yet you won't sacrifice one whit of comfort while enjoying the original layout and rich history of this home. Terraces, levels, and short flights of steps are a hallmark of this property. Enter the blue wooden gate (set into a handsome low stone wall topped with Adobe) from the street and you immediately find yourself in a landscaped patio, stepping up a few feet to a flagstone path flanked by flower beds. Beyond that is the covered front porch, roomy and shaded, with a bench for watching the butterflies and hummingbirds visit the flowering plants. To one side of the house is another patio with seating for a crowd, a big table, and a charcoal grill, all below a pergola. Loved the historic house and neighborhood, blocks from resorts, restaurants and museums. No Target/Amazon decorating here! Lovely, thoughtful art and traditional New Mexico touches throughout. Three patios, each with a bit of bloom (peonies on one, agaves on another) were where we started and ended each day. Kitchen was extremely well-equipped. This turned out to be an even better location than hoped for. With mobility issues, mom would tire out quickly and need to return to rest for a bit. It felt like Harmony House was 5 minutes from virtually anywhere by car - making it easy to come and go. The home itself is lovely with many spaces for gathering or separating for down time. The Harmony House is in such a great location, an easy walk to downtown area. It has such charm and is unique and relaxing. There are all these different outdoor areas to explore and wonderful spaces inside. Plenty of room for three adults. The skylights were amazing. The décor was thoughtful and very Santa Fe. I slept so well. Such a peaceful place. So quiet. The fireplaces were incredible, we got snow our second day and it was so nice to have a fireplace. The kitchen has everything we needed. My only complaints are the check in time and the check out time. I paid for days and there are 24 hours in a day, not 18 with the price as high as it is, I felt cheated getting 36 hours and paying for and loosing an entire half day because your check in is 4:00 and check out is 10! On top of that getting keys from a remote location and trying to find the correct doors to fit the keys is a time consuming process in which we lost even more time. Finally, the showers could use a good scrubbing, black mold in the grout is gross. Other that that, the time emerges did get in the house was short but nice. ##### Nashie P.
