The Space: A view that will leave you in awe: Welcome to Blue Ocean View Retreat, a gorgeous studio apartment minutes from downtown Santa Barbara overlooking the Pacific Ocean, from the beautiful town of Summerland. This location is private but provides to access some of Santa Barbara’s most popular destinations in under a 10 min drive. Including but not limited to, Santa Barbara Golf Club, Butterfly Beach, East Beach, West Beach, Leadbetter Beach, La Cumbre Plaza, Stearns Wharf, and Santa Barbara Botanic Garden! Summerland Beach, and local classic restaurants are within walking distance. Downtown Santa Barbara is a 4 min drive, and is lined with upscale restaurants, shops, and activities for any season. Only 2 minutes away, you can also enjoy what Montecito has to offer. When entering the home, you'll instantly be drawn to the shades of blue on the horizon. Head out to the oversized balcony and take your time to relax outside on the patio furniture to breathe in the salty air - you’re on vacation after all! A retractable awning is available for extra sun protection. Back inside, you are greeted with unique vaulted ceilings that offer an open and airy layout. The apartment is loft-style so you can expect an open concept between the kitchen space, living room, and bedroom. The kitchen offers modern stainless steel appliances and is fully equipped for you to enjoy any meal at home. You can expect to find a drip coffee maker, and toaster in addition to necessary cookware and flatware. This is an eat-in kitchen to seat 4 with stools at the counter. The living room is cozy with a loveseat, coffee table, desk and a large sliding glass door that opens to the outside balcony. Adjacent to the living room you can find a Queen bed with a dresser and TV. The bathroom is steps away from the bed and offers a vanity with ample counter space and a standing shower with lovely stone tile work. The costal location of this property is near HWY 101 and the Amtrak rails, vehicles and passing trains may be heard. Please note that requests for late checkout must be received no later than 10:00 AM local time on the day prior to your departure. Early check-in and late checkout are based on availability and require approval, and may be subject to an additional fee of up to $60.00 depending on the number of additional hours requested. The panoramic ocean view from this spacious studio was breathtaking. I can best describe its sparkling clean interior as elegant and classy. It was obviously upgraded in recent years, to include a modern kitchen area, beautiful flooring, and dark stained window and door frame trim. The queen size bed was very comfortable, and my wife and I commented more than once that we were sleeping better in it than in our bed at home. One other thing: I can’t say enough about the VRBO support we received throughout our stay. Questions we had were answered immediately and there was a strong sense that staff wanted to make sure that we were thoroughly enjoying ourselves, which indeed we were. ##### DON G. But what blew us away were the little surprise bonuses! Our host had equipped the unit with beach towels and beach chairs, which were such a nice touch. The binder was super helpful for navigating the space, and everything was well labeled and clear. It made it super easy to find everything we needed. The location was 5-20 minute drive to literally anything you could possibly want to do. We had a rental car but noticed there was a bus stop close by and an amazing coastal bike trail that linked up Carp, Summerland, Montecito and Santa Barbara. Summerland itself had a ton of charm and we often opted to just stay in and enjoy the view from the patio. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay and would highly recommend. ##### Team T.
