Less than optimal. Not a true triple room

Posted 18-Feb-2016 on Hotels
It was suppose to be a triple room but the third bed was a cot. Not a true triple room. Very misleading. I would recommend curio by Hilton over this hotel. Same price, much better room.

Nice hotel, convenient location.

Room is small, including the bathroom. Shower water is low, and temperature is not easy to adjust. Ion is clean, staff is friendly.

Bare basic facilities, but very clean.

Pros: Location, location, location! Stephan at the front desk was great!
Cons: More hangers, a couple of drawers and tea/coffee-making facilities.
Location: Puerto Madero, Teatro Colon, Obelisco, Casa Rosada, Mayo Plaza, National Congress, and the Hop-On-Hop-Off Bus.
We just returned from a 5-night stay at the Unique Palacio San Telmo hotel in Buenos Aires. This hotel is well situated within walking distance to Puerto Madero, Teatro Colon, Obelisco, Casa Rosada, Tourist Information kiosk, subway, shops/restaurants and the Hop-On-Hop-Off Bus ticket office. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room is clean with modern décor, but only contains a couple of built-in shelves, four hangers for your clothes and no drawers, making unpacking difficult. However, we found living out of our suitcases was a fair exchange for the great location! The room has a safe, a well-stocked fridge but no coffee/tea making facilities. There is a hairdryer in the bathroom. Breakfast is served in the El Querandi restaurant directly opposite the hotel (check out their Tango evening show - a "must-do!"). The basic limited breakfast buffet is reasonable but lacks variety and would be better if they changed it up occasionally. Eating exactly the same breakfast for 5 consecutive mornings becomes a little tedious! BTW, do NOT change US$ at the airport where you will get the official/bank 8.5 exchange rate. You can pay in US$ (approx. $US46) for the TaxiEiziza (blue & White stand at the airport) to get from the airport to the hotel. The hotel will give you approx 11.5, and the money exchange near the Hop-On Bus stop gave us 12! This hotel is worth a visit...have fun!

Excellent location and a reasonably good hotel.

Palacio San Telmo (don't expect to see the Unique logo anywhere, it's probably only the management company) is a strategically located property in the northernmost part of San Telmo, near the ideal center of Buenos Aires (within a walking distance from the cathedral, Casa Rosada, The Obelisk, Puerto Madero and many more) and just 250-400 meters from 3 different metro stations. Apart from this, Palacio San Telmo offers excellent wi-fi connection and an acceptable breakfast. Rooms are clean and recently renovated, my only critics are towards the interior designers, who in their attempt to create a boutique hotel atmosphere (which they achieved), didn't do much about functionality: you have no special place to put your suitcase on, neither a desk, the bathroom sink is ridiculously small and the 3 mirrors around it really don't help you much when shaving, because the lighting is right above you, not in front. Rooms could be made more soundproof too. Several other design misconceptions spoil the otherwise excellent visible impression, but for a few days you can live with them - compensated by the perfect view of the nearby clock tower. More could be expected from the breakfast too, which is located in the restaurant just in front of the hotel - the atmosphere is great, but the food selection definitely couldn't be called diverse, even though the quality itself is not bad at all.
