good for the time that we needed, didn’t need the extra luxury. went next door to say hi to friends at neighboring hotel, glad we we didn’t pay extra bc felt like college dorm with all the guests and their kids. Kitchen area was fine; however, when you used the toaster the heat set off the fire detector. The room was clean but the bed needed a better blanket rather than thin ones, and the pillows were too stiff and thick. A good location and value, especially for longer stays.

Accommodations were basic, as one should expect with a Motel 6. However, I found this to be a good, affordable option on a weekend when other places had inflated their prices for move-in week at the university. I was encouraged by other reviews stating that this motel was quiet and felt safe for a woman staying alone. This was true for me, as well. I didn’t use the pool, but it looked clean and other people seemed to enjoy the pool area. My room was one of the studios that had its own kitchen area. I didn’t use it for my short stay, but it looked like it could be very useful. Glasses, bowls, plates, and silverware were included, which was very nice, but I decided not to use them because one glass did not look or feel clean. I just used some of the wrapped, disposable cups provided for coffee. For anyone choosing to use the kitchen, be sure to bring your own dishwashing liquid, as it did not appear to be provided. (They might have had some available in the office. I did not ask.) Other than the one glass, the room appeared very clean. While I prefer to stay closer to the downtown area and the university, this facility had quick access to the freeway and Los Osos Valley Road, so it was easy to get where I needed to be by driving. Plenty of parking was available.
