This is one of the nicest hotels we’ve stayed at since we’ve been coming to Pismo. The staff was exceptionally kind and accommodating, from booking to the front desk to housekeeping to Marisol restaurant (who makes an excellent margarita!) The beds were very comfortable and the rooms spacious & quiet. We came at a difficult time during the quarantine and the Cliffs gave us a much needed, stress free reprieve from the rest of the world for a few days.
The hotel has a beautiful view of the ocean and the property. All of the amenities were closed do to the Covid 19 pandemic. Not the fault of the hotels. This is a beautiful place and will be booking an other weekend stay in the future.
This hotel is always a gem. We’d been booked on a cruise among this virus issue and it’d been cancelled. Told my daughter let’s go to The Cliffs and pretend we’re on a cruise. Ate every meal at Marisol had drinks in the hot tub. It was great - hot was squeaky clean.
The check in was confusing. I booked a "classic" room with a king bed and a sea view. When I arrived the front desk gave me a garden view because the there is no such thing as a classic sea view room at there hotel. The Front Desk Manager made it right and upgraded is to a not classic sea view room. On check out they wanted an additional $180 dollars even though I prepared with expedia. After fifteen minutes of explaining and waiting for mangers they took it off the bill. Please get this problem straightened out. I am certain they will be contacting you.
An amazing resort with a great gym.its on a cliff over a beach with views of the Channel Islands. Really nice breakfast buffet and NYE dinner/party. I will be back
One of the best places to stay in Pismo. The ocean view rooms are the best!

Disliked: Staff & service
There was rarely anyone at the front desk. I had to ask two different people to get a blow dryer that worked and I gave up on asking some questions because there was no one around. Except the valet guys. They were all really nice. I didn’t care for the fact that the parking lot was so small that I had to valet park several times. Not a big deal, just a little annoying. The property could use a refresh. Small bathrooms. The room was fairly clean.
The view is awesome, the beds are divine with enough pillows to satisfy the pickiest pillow person! The restaurant was delightful. All that being said... the front desk staff as well as staff "in charge" of booking the shuttle van leave a lot to be desired. I'll be forgiving and chalk it up to inexperience (new hires?) because it's hard to believe that this property would allow such behavior toward paying guests. If it hadn't been for the rudeness experienced at the hands of these seemingly "careless" employees, I would have given a full "excellent" rating. Don't let the fact that this property is older deter you from enjoying it's perfect location and beautiful views. It is well maintained and the rest of the staff was absolutely attentive!
Everything was good, except, my bathing suit was taken from my room, and the staff could not find it. At checkout, they said they will try to find and send it to me,but after a week, i don;t have it, i am pretty sure it was taken from the room, i hung it on the door hanger, after returning from the swimming pool, and the next day we went out for several hours, upon return, i wanted to go swimming and my suit was gone, and the staff could not find it, so, i am pretty upset, specially, we have stayed at this hotel many a times over the past decades, the sad part is, they didn't even offer any compensation for it, was a very expensive suit and almost brand new, next time, i will make sure to mention it and just not have the room cleaned, very disappointed.
Check in was easy, friendly, the valet plugged in my car and made sure it was charged, the pool and hot tub were well maintained, clean and comfortable (although sometimes very busy), views and beach access were perfect
I felt that the person checking me in should have actually told me what amenities were available to me. They told me nothing. Just checked me in. I had no idea what the place had to offer. I don’t know the name of our check in person but it was a young man with dreadlocks. He wasn’t rude but he didn’t offer any information either. The room was clean and bedding was nice but the bathroom seemed like it needed a facelift. Yellowing grout etc.

Nice enough
Nice property but it’s worn and dated. Beds are comfortable yet dangerously tall. Beautiful view.

Valet staff was awesome...our room was clean, quiet and cozy... front desk staff was not super friendly... but they had many people in and out and were trying to manage the flow of guests. Beautiful location and ambiance. Avoid the Spa at all costs- got a massage and came back bruised terribly. I get massages regularly from all over and never ever have I been bruised. Feeling sore after a deep tissue is normal but I was literally black and blue to the point where it was hard to sleep/sit in our car.
